Thry are a drain on society. If they leave, it’s a net positive. If they start to pay their fair share, it’s a net positive. Either way we win.

Maybe I missed that (I watched it twice), but to me it appeared very much so that he had (except after the intricate swaps, which erased his memory) full agency, and was the one pushing the limits/boundaries of the device.
Of course one can make the point that power corrupts etc., and the Shinigamis are attached to that power. In a way, they embody power and could be seen as the corrupting force, but that is as far as I would take that. At least Riuk was emotionally detached/had no real stake in it. I don’t recall him ever endorsing or driving him to persue his mission. Maybe his subdued admiration of Lights “shenanigans” can be seen as adding fuel to the his (ego) fire, but that also is a defect Light has had before, not instilled by Riuk.

Light went after people in the prison system or suspected of being criminals, without ever doubting the justness of the system in any way. He is useful idiot, delusional agent of the system or megalomaniacal bootlicker. Choose your pick.

They are afraid of people in public transit.
Their fear of others also drives them to get bigger and bigger cars, causing them to become even more detached from anyone who is not already close to them.

Sorry, I meant HA. I just recently set this up, it’s not 100% the same, but very, very similar. I have some wake up system, and when I go to bed, I scan a ncf Tag (just hold the unlocked phone next to it). There is an android next alarm sensor in the companion app, and when this changes (under time conditions), the next alarm is set in HA. The Tag kills all lighting and sets the alarm (which was set earlier) to active, triggering the wake up system some time before the next alarm is set to go off.

You can do that in HO no problem. No need for proprietary stuff (tasker has really lost it’s charm).

Yeah, I questioned the second and third temp bans they gave me. After the last (so, the third) they banned me. I suspect it’s because I was asking.
Their reasons of course were bullshit, for every single ban.

Driving in a car/metal box instead of sharing the space or walking/cycling and connecting to others is another one.
Othering of others is super easy in a car. There are studies about how much more violent and vitriolic people are when driving.
