- Comment on How would I repurpose a work laptop? 5 days ago:
And your words show your lack of experience in the matter. Usually work laptops have their bios locked down, so you can’t access it and change the boot sequence and install what you want.
Some just put a password that sometimes can be reset, other times there are full on lockdowns by dedicated security apps that are very difficult (if not impossible) to circumvent.

On buses the card payment system is (usually) not real time. The card info is processed overnight. This assuming the network connection between the bus and the processing system is up. Mobile networks towers do have batteries, but only for few hours. Only in remote areas they have generators (I’d expect a few in cities but mostly not).

Probably couldn’t find that many real unarmed Americans waiting properly for a real picture.
And to preempt the comments: I’ve seen videos of people tearing down the doors for black friday. I’ve seen people going with open carry to buy TP during covid, openly stating “I’ll get my TP one way or another”. No way hungry armed people won’t escalate. Sure this is human nature, but Americans are the ones with more guns than eggs, and very divisive at this point in time

I’m not young and yeah, working 8 hours (or more) straight is not fun. Boring tasks, incompetent (and arrogant) people to deal with, never ending stuff piled on you.
Gen z is more than right to not put up with the stuff that a lot of people has gone through

‘You can’t give her that!’ she screamed. ‘It’s not safe!’ IT’S A SWORD, said the Hogfather. THEY’RE NOT MEANT TO BE SAFE. ‘She’s a child!’ shouted Crumley. IT’S EDUCATIONAL. ‘What if she cuts herself?’ THAT WILL BE AN IMPORTANT LESSON.
