It does make the corn healthier with extra protein and vitamins!

I was wanting to grow it next year. Do you know if it grows on all types of corn? I imagine seeds in the US are pre-treated in a way that deters the growth of the fungus, but I have been meaning to look it up this winter.

I am also oatilicious. It’s possible at more than one time in my life that I have been mostly made of oats.

The night we got it, we were going to watch a movie. Instead, we ended up watching the robot vacuum clean the floor, totally entertained. I have a dog and a cat and so when I have time I try to vacuum but more often than not I just don’t vacuum! And we end up with tumble weeds absolutely all over the place. Now when I go to sleep I can click go and the little dude just cruises around picking up all the junk. I love it. It even mops,! Even though I didn’t want one that did that, I love it now.

Hah! I hear that. Every time I turn it on, I spend a few minutes picking stuff up off the floor that it’s going to get stuck on. It’s actually kind of a nice way to maintain the floor space… But it absolutely would not have worked in the house I grew up in. Too many shoes all over the place, et cetera, et cetera.

FYI the country is spelled Colombia… which I’m only writing because I think we should also change DC to the District of Colombia in honor of our new Lady Liberty.

I mean, they should, but because of what amounts to basically slave labor, they don’t cost near that much in the US. That’s the big evil of bananas these days. I love them, but I don’t buy them.

I’ve never tried roasted kiwis, but roasted peaches are absolutely delicious. What about peach pizza?

It really depends on your area, both who’s buying and who’s donating.

When you can no longer afford to buy things, including furniture, at stores, thrifting as a habit become an errand. Not one that takes long enough to meet up with a friend, I agree, but it is a slightly different headspace than going shopping.

I got a call last week from a car dealership asking for Linda, again, and I said “I get calls for Linda all the time,” and that my caller ID comes up as “Linda,” and that now, when I call my dad he shouts “YO LINDA” as a greeting. And the dealership rep told me that Linda is a sweet old lady who is hoping to get a car soon. I asked the rep if she would say hi to Linda for me and she said for sure she would.

Project Gutenberg, if ebooks

I was wrong, you were wrong! We can throw rice at weddings again. I have a great picture of my mom getting married outside with rice being thrown in her face.

But why don’t they plant trees?? And I don’t mean the little weeping cherry that will top out at 15’ or those goddamned arborvitaes that cast no shade. Plant an oak, a maple, a willow, a sycamore.

It’s just that much easier for developers to raze all plants to the ground before grading and running other heavy equipment. These are new construction and so those developers aren’t accountable to anyone, and I’m sure the local jurisdiction doesn’t care. That’s not a justification, for what it’s worth, just an explanation.
What I’ve never been sure of is why people don’t eventually realize how much nicer everything would be if they just replanted trees (or left them in the first place) but they seem to be used to suburban hell. If you drive everywhere it’s less of an issue that your environment is shit.

Is that how you think of your “random small appliance” drawer? Aka. The junk drawer of the kitchen.

Thank you for bringing me a small slice of the Old Internet, 1.0. I miss it, and it’s very specific websites, tremendously and frequently.
Kids, check it out. This should have been your inheritance.
