I’m curious what that looks like in practice. I’ve heard about places that offer “unlimited sick leave” but really in practice that means that you’re basically scrutinized every single time you take it, and people end up too scared to use it because they don’t want to be seen as abusing the system. At least with a set amount, you’re only really looked at funny if you go over. (or if you take it all at once, but then you need a medical cert)
So if you have a cold, and just need a single day, do need to produce a medical cert? What about culture-wise, do people look at you funny in that case?

At that point ACC would kick in. I think it’s up to 80% of your pre illness income, and there are probably other benefits I don’t know about

NZ: We’re legally entitled to 10 days paid sick leave. If you’re out for less than 3 consecutive days you can be asked for a medical certificate but your employer must pay for it. Even then I’ve never been asked for a medical cert.

I’m assuming they don’t mean a suggestive camera pan, but actually something problematic on screen, in which case, I totally support the ban. Devs were given the opportunity to change it, and they said no. Ban away imho. The fact that this is considered controversial is pretty disturbing to me.
