Well derailed, succesfully avoided going anywhere near the actual argument.
I’m sure the manufacturers would’ve been in more legal trouble if they shipped VCRs packed with pirated content.
VCRs do not contain such copyrighted material.
- Comment on For those of you who enjoy open-world games, how big of a world is too big? 2 days ago:
Measuring size alone is meaningless, as gameplay affects perceived size, and density of meaningful content in relation affects the experience.
Size should match content.
Skyrim is canonically pretty close to the size and shape of Estonia, but in game it’s very small. If the game’s content was spread out to the “real” size, it would feel completely barren.
The map in Deus Ex MD was quite small, but it punched way above its size, because it was so dense in detail.

Mate, what?
It is the end user who receives the broadcast and feeds it into the VCR, is it not?

do we say the maker of the VCR/DVD burner/computer is at fault
There’s one difference you ignored: to copy a video with a VCR, the user needs to supply the copyrighted material. I’m sure the manufacturers would’ve been in more legal trouble if they shipped VCRs packed with pirated content.
- Comment on Why do each gaming fraction (pc, consoles, mobile) hating each other? 3 days ago:
Consoles have been brand tribalistic since forever, probably because of marketing, and that the people used to be mostly kids. Insufferable computer users felt superior because you could get a PC that runs games way better than any of the consoles.
Most of the fighting has ended now, which is nice. Mobile gaming was and is looked down because of its reputation as a shovelware platform.

It involves some randomization. It could be that they got this nonsense the first time, or attempted as many times as the response says “minute”.

I’m talking sbout before that. Management didn’t understand what they were doing and pushed hair brained ideas like having to hold the phone sideways against your ear.

- Comment on Why aren't Linux based mobile OSes more popular? 3 weeks ago:
The main use of the apps is 2fa. The bank does offer a separate code device, but that’d be pretty annoying. There are other things that are also becoming harder without apps, like public transport.
The apps might even work for now, but then I’d rely on Google not pushing some bullshit that breaks it.

No apps => Nobody buys => No users => Nobody makes apps
I’d seriously consider if I at least got the bare necessities, like my bank.
