On the other hand, you can’t have banter without a bit of mockery. A relationship without some traded jabs is tepid, superficial, at best. It indicates that the people in the relationship don’t really trust each other, that the emotional stability of the relationship is untested and unreliable.
It shouldn’t be constant, and it shouldn’t be one-sided, and it also shouldn’t be completely absent.
