Busting drug addicts will do ZERO to help the drug and crime problems. Even law enforcers will tell you that.
Those problems are so much more complex, and require fundamental reforms in social policies, mental healthcare, education, youth programmes, city planning etc. And then there’s the issue of dealing with the gangs, smugglers and foreign organized syndicates bringing the stuff into the country.
Kids driving recklessly on scooters (which are often modified) are:
A) A danger to themselves B) A danger to pedestrians they could crash into C) A serious danger to cars that swerve to avoid them when they go out on the main road.

ICE/Gestapo and the Proud Boys/Sturmabteilung might provide all the avenues needed. It’s not illegal if they just say it’s been made legal. Hope for the best, but be prepared.

Or maybe the people creating the subtitles should be given enough time and resources to be able to do their job well?

Might get shot for this, but Quake 2 never really did the thing for me compared to Quake 1. Weapons and enemies all just felt a bit sluggish, and level design was a bit confusing at times.

Mumbling to my friend through my oxygen mask:
“I was an alright bloke in the end, wasn’t I?”
“Nah, you were a total cunt”

If your friend is mean to you and belittling you, he’s not your friend. He just found a therapy puppet for himself.

The source is me living in the Philippines for many, many years. Go to the department stores, and they will direct you away from the sofas if you sit on them. Can’t sell a used sofa. Most businesses in the Philippines operate in this way with squeezing a profit from every little thing they can.

I love Europe. It’s the only place where a bus driver from country A can get into a heated argument with a random guy from country B in two completely different languages. After both have gone on for a bit and not understood a word of what the other one was saying, they have reached a point of agreement, can wish each other a good day and carry on.

Fully Booked is popular, but that’s probably because it’s the only actual bookstore franchise in the Philippines. Most other book stores are family owned stores that sell used books. National Bookstore is a joke, and mostly sells stationary.

Sounds like Fully Booked in the Philippines. Books aren’t allowed to be browsed before you buy them, sofas aren’t allowed to be sat in before you buy them. It’s nonsense.

Switch over for a quick round of Alex Kidd in Miracle World at my friend’s place. I found it so fascinating after manually switching cables between the antenna and Commodore 64 at home.

Absolutely. The hot war was raging on the other side of the world, while the psychological war was being fought against their own people (who in the end lost)

But the ones in here comparing it to Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the Holocaust need to get some perspective. It was a pivotal moment and a serious reality check for the Americans, but it was not the Holocaust.

Norway covers it. We regularly see news about foreign tourists who either take stupid risks and have to be airlifted down, or tourists who book a night at one of the mountain cabins and then trigger a whole red cross search party with two helicopters when they don’t show up. It’s all covered by the state.

Mmm, fish & chips with a cheeky pickle on the side. Some curry sauce, bit of malt vinegar and salt on the chips. Oh, now you’re making me hungry.
