I think it’s because they want to keep us stupid and withdrawn from the world as a whole. The US is kind of a giant prison, but with some shiny things to distract the more well off inmates from caring as much. For those who are poor, they’ll be aware but have hardly a network to figure out how to escape. Language is incredibly important and also allows you to think in different ways depending on what languages you know; gives different perspective. They don’t want us to think.

Yes! That’s exactly it if I’m also remembering correctly. She had a pet snake, and the weird thing at the end of the episode was she vanished and there was no record of her anywhere. I feel like it implied she was a demon herself and not just merely possessed.

The episode that this one is from is I think about 2 girls that go from guy to guy killing them making it look like it’s in the name of Satanic ritual. But there is another episode where an entire school board is in fact a group of theistic Satanists. Though, I think the head guy was the only one with true power or sway. And don’t forget about the liposuction doctor’s office episode where it’s run by a Satanic doctor who gives himself face surgeries to evade the law. I love X-Files. I used to own the whole 10 season box set.

Nicotine isn’t really easy to take in. It causes massive stomach upset, plus it affects the mucus membranes. You would barf and feel like total shit trying to drink it. I don’t know all the scientific specifics, but yeah. I do know though that there is a liquor made in part with tobacco. Dunno how that works, but I’m sure the specific methods of fermentation and proofing must kill whatever would affect you in such a way.

Mac as a kid, Windows for most of my life so far, Linux as a couple years now. I graduated a tech bootcamp with some good certs for DevOps/Cybersecurity, but they’re expiring soon because the area I live has zero job openings and I completed the whole thing right as the AI “boom” was starting. Ugh

It doesn’t have to do with how it’s said more than influence generally. Some words in Emglish simply wouldn’t exist that we use on a daily basis without French influence.

It’s like 30%. Anything that ends is -tion and -ce, etc. Lots of stuff. Not to mention it’s technically a cretin language, English. Not fully Germanic. You can speak it in a fully Germanic way, but most don’t or won’t.
