The only reason it failed was because the traitors mistakenly chosen a good and loyal American soldier who informed FDR of the plot.
Smedley Butler is a name that has essentially been forgotten due to his later views on American business interests and foreign imperialism.

I had an 8th grade social studies teacher/football coach tell us black people had an extra bone in their leg and that’s why they were so good at sports. He was pretty well liked teacher tbh, we watched Oliver Stones “JFK” in his class. During lectures he’d come around and sit on the front of his desk to seem more relatable. He ended up on the school board eventually.

Some co-workers and I were talking about ordering some to try, just for fun. I think I’m going to do that.
- Comment on If you have cut off mainstream music streaming, how do you discover new music or artists and songs like what you're listening frequently? 1 week ago:
This is pretty true and a I love it.
For all the ills of social media the internet has been an absolute godsend to musicians and music fans alike. We can find genres and sounds in clicking around curiously that most of us just wouldn’t have ever been exposed to without the internet.
FWIW I try to purposefully spend some time “exploring” music on YT and Spotify, and I go out to local venues a lot. I’m a little older and having a wide library of good music helps me feel “in touch” with the world.
I have this site bookmarked, this seems like a good place to post it: www.gnoosic.com

Make sure someone takes minutes so we can maximize our synergies and deliverables.

Oh shit I unironically like this.
- Comment on So um, america just started another war in the middle east. We're going to need a shit ton more memes to distract americans from the nightmare they are enduring. Thanks in advance... 2 weeks ago:
Going off your comment I’m guessing you just became politically active in the last few years.

I can think of two specific instances in my life when wearing glasses saved me from serious eye damage, I’m sure there were more.

It was so disgusting digging all the gunk out with a toothpick, cotton swabs, and alcohol.
Optical mice were such a huge improvement everyone I knew (except the weird trackball guy) switched as soon as they became available and never looked back.

There are women who definitely car about the (quality, cost) of the car you drive. It’s one of the most obvious status symbols.

What does your “Average American Town” look like in your mind?
What’s the population like?
Is it Rural, suburban, urban?
I’m only curious because I’ve lived all over and to say you felt unsafe in 90% of it makes me think it’s a you problem and not a problem with “Average American Town”
- Comment on Anon takes the last bus 1 month ago:
It’’s about how unpleasant and dangerous it is to walk around 90% of America.
Imagine actually believing this though. Just huddled inside scared of the world. Sounding like a MAGAt.
- Comment on Why do we tolerate it that Luigi Mangione is being held in prison. We know its absolutely the least safe place he can be? 1 month ago:
edit: I hope every inmate makes it clear that Luigi is cool with them and that anyone who does something similar will receive a warm welcome, that might make things interesting.

I remember a video right after he was taken into custody of inmates yelling out the windows about “free luigi” and “luigis conditions are terrible” of course they love him. He killed a greedy healthcare CEO, you could argue he did the world a favor.

I feel like it’ll just never happen, it’s gonna be like 3D movies, just a fad and proof of concept that never catches on for myriad reasons.

Mel Brooks (writer/director/producer/star of Spaceballs) is infinitely more talented than George Lucas so it kinda makes sense.

I get it, and thinking about it I know some married men who’ll say the same kind of incel-type shit you see online. I agree that it doesn’t have to do with “getting pussy” really because obviously lots of vile men do get pussy and are still misogynistic assholes, but words have meanings.
I guess my bigger issue is with there being a negative connotation to the concept of celibacy as an inherently bad thing. Intended or not it’s still placing value on someones ability to have sex with someone else. You can be a hateful piece of shit and still fuck, it really is just another way to form an out group.
- Comment on Anon gets outed 2 months ago:
Whatever somersaults you need to do to make your insulting people for not having sex ok. Same as every other generalization and stereotype. It’s just a shortcut for “who can I other” ?

There’s no war but the class war, everything else is propaganda to distract us from the real criminals.
- Comment on Are most people here left-wing? 2 months ago:
I’m as left-wing as they come but to imply that drummies are somehow superior to flats is wrong-headed and shows your own biases. I’ll concede that the little chicken legs are easier (and more fun) to eat, but the quality of the delicate meat between the two little wing bones in a the flats ones makes them more of a delight to me.

I have a strong dislike of centipedes as well. One time years ago I had a terrible dream that a large centipede (one of those big jungle ones) was crawling all over my body. As it raced down my arm I slapped at it, with a jolt of pain my arm went instantly numb as it bit me.
I startled myself awake to realize I was laying on my arm and it had gone completely asleep and was numb. Still one of the scariest dreams I’ve ever had haha.

I’d be way more concerned about running into someone in a 'bando than out in the woods though.
Hiker in the woods is going to go the other way. A homebum in a bando? Who knows how they’ll react.

Desire is the root of all suffering, suffering can cease when attachment to desire is extinguished.
