Keeping it in the homelab defeats the point. I could do separate vlans and route traffic but something like jellyfin is a better option all around.
These boxes are aimed at people who barely know what a network is, they just want to plug it in and watch. No config, no hassle, it’ll de facto be on the same network as their laptops and phones.

From conversations with the older men I’ve known throughout life, I don’t think that happens for everyone. Maybe sporadically throughout life as events come and go but even the actual old guys I’ve known (80yr olds) were still interested in romantic (and sexual) relationships; maybe more interested than someone in their 30s is.

For the last 5 or so years I’ve only used the P2P hospitality platforms if I’m looking for a specific amenity or if it’s a group. There’s an AirBnB I visit ~once per year that has a nice big hot tub right by a river. It’s a unique stay and something a hotel couldn’t really do, it’s also around the same price as a nice hotel room.
Having a kitchen is nice in theory but if it’s a short term stay it doesn’t matter that much.
The platforms stopped being a bargain at some point with the fees and cleaning and rules. I can get a hotel room for around the same price that includes a breakfast and as long as I don’t trash it they’re thrilled to get my business.

the helmet is a big floppy dick for my Phallus gear set. I get all the pieces, it unlocks a projectile attack that sticks enemies in place.
Well now I want the helmet, but if I complete this other minor side quest it’s going to become uncompletable, but it doesn’t mention that anywhere I have to read a strategy guide to know that.

It’s complicated, he actually is (or was at least) a fairly skilled martial artist in the very specific style of Aikido. But as you correctly say, Aikidos effectiveness in the real world or in mixed-style fights is up for debate. His massive ego really doesn’t do him any favors.

I see lots of non-Americans telling Americans to “do something!” every single day here in the fediverse.
Americans might have “vile and violent fantasies” but they’re far from the only ones and I’d wager if you talked to a neighbor or two you might find some of them have similar fantasies.

I keep everything groomed but never really shave anything smooth.
I’ve tried it and it feels nice for a second but the itching/scratching as it grows back just isn’t worth it.
But I keep basically my entire body “groomed” to some extent, I just use some electric clippers and a short guards. You want it long enough to not be scratchy or itchy, but short enough to not be a tangled mess.
I’m a hairy adult btw.

I think it’s two women, maybe one is rocking a fake mustache to try to appear male at first glance.
These two barely read as ICE to me much less any other LEO, they must be scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point.

Slight correction, I believe the NYTimes printed Industrial Society and Its Future because Kaczynski told them he’d stop mailing bombs if they did. The FBI and Janet Reno (AG at the time) both pushed for it and its publication directly led to his brother recognizing the writing as Ted’s and his subsequent capture.

Slightly related, I frequently visit a large “Wilderness area” near where I live. It’s thousands of acres and I’ve been visiting my whole life, camping, hiking, hunting. In the last 5-10 years as more and more people get UTVs or “side by sides” it’s becoming more accessible to people who previously would’ve had to walk in or have a 4x4.
The damage they’re doing is extremely visible. There’s a rock cliff/hillside lookout you previously had to climb, it’s only about a 30 degree incline after you cross a big ditch so it’s not a particularly difficult climb but now that everyone has off road vehicles they’ve started to just drive up to the top and it’s clearly destroying the rock, wearing a path.
It’s infuriating I can visibly see the damage these vehicles are doing but everyone in them just sees it as a good wholesome time.

Your comment made me go down a pretty fascinating rabbit hole, hypothetical types of biochemistry. You mentioned silicon, with something like ammonia or methane serving the role of water. Carl Sagan apparently considered Silicon and Germanium possible substitutes for carbon
The article also mentions non-green photosynthesis and that other colored plants could support photosynthesis and might even be preferred in places that receive a different mix of solar radiation than Earth. Science so is fucking cool.
