I got news from you on their economy straight from the western media.
wsj.com/…/north-korea-economy-success-e80f7062
Ita hard to know anything about North Korea for certain but it seems to me the terrible economic conditions we hear about outside of North Korea were mainly during the 90s. Seems like after that the narrative was continued as a propaganda effort but it’s hard to know. There is alot of North Korean South Korean and CIA propaganda floating around and it’s hard to know what’s what.

Me suggesting someone take advantage of a business that’s taken advantage of them for years lol

Alternative for you, stay on keep coming in but stop working, actually spend that time at work applying to new jobs. Do this until you are confronted. Then tell them you need your pay doubled to continue working. They will probably fire you but you will get paid time for all of your job applications and a chance to fuck with the owner. 🤷

Well if you’re mainly on the English speaking web maybe the decline in education since 2013 plays a role.
pbs.org/…/whats-behind-the-decade-long-learning-r…
I’d also imagine tech and specifically internet illiteracy of older generations plays a role.
…stanford.edu/older-adults-and-technology-moving-…
Not to mention all the bots pretending to be users commenting on things.

The icing on the top is that the algorithms on social media probably know that this kind of wrong will keep you engaged enough to research and make posts about this kind of thing and so it sends it your way to keep your attention.
- Comment on "Linux? Those guys who like to talk about themselves?" 2 weeks ago:
It’s because Lemmy is a techy tinkering hub. The same skills and interests needed to be aware of and migrate to Lemmy lend themselves to people migrating to Linux.
Both are free and open source and arguably better than the alternatives of reddit and windows so of course there are a bunch of dorks on here trying to get you to switch.
Both also cut down on how much you can be spied on and manipulated by algorithms so that’s a big incentive to convert people too.

Short answer is capitalist propaganda. The illusion of freedom is important to maintain control and curb resistance.

Well in that case get a good life insurance policy and read the fine print when you’re figuring out how to “opt out” of that end of life care

No offense my guy but a quarter mill and a house will probably be easily eaten up but your end of life care. Regardless I hope you have that set up in a trust for your daughter so she doesn’t have to pay taxes on it if there is something left.

If this is a joke, I apologize for clarifying but the Republican is listed as Trump for both of those races because the Republican nominee was Trump in both those races. They’re not just calling all Republicans Trump LOL

Blaming indiviguals for not wanting to vote for a pro-genicide candidate works so well. Totally helped us win 2016 and 2024.
Here’s the real issue. The Dems would rather be moderate Republicans than actual left-wing candidates. They spent all their time trying to appeal to modern White wingers and modern right-wing are still vote for people like Trump instead. Image
