Usually the jokes are about Saskatchewan, but Manitoba is substantially flatter. Much of Manitoba was the lakebed of glacial lake Agassiz - the largest lake to have existed in north america.

I live in Manitoba. I could not hit the up vote fast enough.
Guys have you seen our fields? We got fields.
Yeah living here is dull as fuck, but here’s a great story, I was driving on the highway 30 years ago and I saw a man stopped and staring out into a field. I had assumed he had car troubles and was staring out into the field in exhaustion, and I was stopping to be compassionate. He explained that he was visiting from China on a conference, and he had opportunity to rent a car. He was just staring into the canola fields, because he had never seen anything like that in his life - his reality was living in a highly congested city where a postage stamp of sky was visible for 18 seconds a day behind the smog & skyscrapers.

I did my M.Sc there, and lived there for 3 years, so i am allowed to shit on the province too lol.
It’s pretty in its own right, and the small towns can have their own charm, but it’s not for everyone.

Winnipeg and Manitoba will always have a place in my heart for what it lost by the COVID pandemic. I was awarded a full paid interchange scholarship to do a semester on statistics on the Winnipeg university paid by the Canadian government, but it was sadly canceled because of COVID. I was already visualized my time there, all the people and friends I had, and then suddenly all the plans scrapped.

At least there are trees. Wait to you hit Saskatchewan and you don’t even have that.
Ariselas@piefed.ca 2 days ago
You have the BC border to look forward to when you are leaving Manitoba and entering Saskatchewan

Driving through Ontario (Ottawa to Kenora) is more soul sucking than MB to B.C.
Ontario never ends, then you blink and you’re in Alberta.
