I’m getting tired of people putting survival over standing up to the system.
That’s a pretty privileged position to take. "Hey you, poor person, you should die so I have the opportunity to benefit from the system changing. Is that any different from what CEO was doing?
Does a McDonalds worker lose anything by not turning the guy in?
Yes, $50k.
I’m not trying to justify it. I’m just pointing out that a year and a half salary is a pretty strong incentive. That is the opportunity to quit your job and not worry about money for a couple of months while you look for a better job. Whether you work at McDicks or Xitter, I understand the appeal of that. And I think a lot of people at least consider that.
Maybe after a certain point even those trying to survive should share the blame for the negativity their contributions bring.
This transaction feels like a bribe to keep the poors in check.
I mean, yeah. That’s the whole point. But I still don’t blame the individuals that are also victims of the system.

$50k of a reward. Probably over 1.5 years of salary.

None of those are even close to the density of Night City. Tokyo has a density of 6,363 persons/km^2, compared to Night City’s density of 65,000 people/km^2.
Also those are ‘old’ cities. They have historical reasons for increasing density. Night City is a city founded and built by mega corps, represents the ‘new’ world that the mega corps want to build. My point is that in our world, the type of cities that are being built and our mega corps want, are all suburban spawl.

We are not even going to get dense cities like Night City. Imagine how much worse the cyberpunk dystopia is going to be with a 2.5 hour commute each from the suburbs along a mega highway.

That indeed looks like an M.2
What is so infuriating about that?

Ice is a mineral. So molten ice, i.e. water, is lava. Humans are mostly made of water, much more than they are made of DNA. So you are more molten rock than you are genetic material. And people are some sort of water golem.

What would be weirder is an app counting down how much time you have left.

Its more of a visibility thing. Backing out, your vehicle has to be three quarters of the way into traffic before you can really see.
