For decades day at the school district office I work at’s spirit week I wore my shirt with the Tardis coming out of the blue portal and entering the orange portal on the back to rep the late aughts. I said “the cake is a lie” a few times, but basically nobody got it.

Man, I actually liked the SirGrafo era of r/comics. Sure as hell was miles better than the Pizzacake/HowlingElk/etc “relatable” no-punchlines era

Patient gamer here. Wife and I said that catchphrase in 2015. Don’t trust this method when time traveling!

I built my older kid a gaming PC for his birthday. He just turned 10

For some reason, one of the first games he wanted to play was Portal. So, for reference, Portal came out well before he did, and I’m sure he only knows of it because of references in cartoons.

But my younger kid…he’s 7…he’s nobodies fool. He knew as soon as cake was promised that it’s not going to happen. He told me, essentially as soon as it was announced in the game…that the cake is a lie.

Serious proud dad moment. It’s like “The Cake is a Lie” was imbued into the very sperm that gestated into him.
