“All right babe, I know you’ve dumped me a couple of years ago, but I’m willing to give you one more chance.”
Take the fucking hint, already! 🤦🏻

I went out of my way to delete my account when i left 7 years ago. It was a pita to click through all the dark patterns but it worked.

Are you sure your not unsure about being sure this will delete your account? If not, click yes.

I don’t get what you are angry about. If it is one email before deleting I think that’s pretty reasonable. You could have had some important-to-you conversations that you would be upset to lose.
If they keep sending stuff like this that is one thing. But I appreciate one or maybe two confirmations before someone deletes my data.

I remeber when I was trying to delete my Facebook account I couldn’t even find the option to do it. They “temporarily” removed the option because they were reworking the page or something like this… sure. In the end I ended up on a random website which gave me a link to the actual account deletion page. After that they were like: “Are you REALLY sure you want to delete your account? What will your family and friends think about this? 😭😭😭 You have 6 months to make up your mind. Please don’t go”

If you have an account for a service you don’t need anymore, you should delete it. Who knows what kind of info they might leak because of some security mishap or an attack?

Log in just to delete your account. The ultimate power move.

Sometimes it’s super silly too. Bought a car in 2023. Still get new emails every six months or so to check if I’d log back in to check the latest model. Dude. Your wagon still rolls and I won’t buy another one until the first one legally can’t be put on the road anymore.

There should be a way to opt out of these messages.

Delete the account yourself, I guess?

yeah photobucket told me my account would be deleted a month every day for the last two years too.

I was in NYC back in early 2020 and downloaded the Uber app for that, there was no Uber in my country at that point. I’ve never used it since then. I still get emails every fucking month that my Uber account is about to expire and be deleted unless I log in. For 3 years now. JUST FUCKING DELETE IT FFS

I get so many emails like that— you haven’t been checking your emails from us! We’re gonna stop sending! Meh. Fifteen emails later proves you aren’t…

Fucking Capital One sends me letters in the mail because I “don’t read” their emails. I do, but I just don’t load their 14 thousand tracking pixels.

You are the product. And they want their product back. Please resume consumption immediately.

I think I received a ton of these from Photobucket, where I didn’t even know I had an account, for a whole year before it finally stopped. September 2023-August 2024, I just checked. The thing was, they were asking me if my account could be deleted but required me to log in to the account and I didn’t care enough to bother with a password reset and all that.
So for a 6 month period they sent a new mail every 3 days. I honestly thought they were never going to delete the account, but apparently they did eventually.
