Most of the ‘good’ that wasps do are parasitic and non-stinging wasps. I’m sure we can all appreciate their uses. I just want rid of the mid-size and above stinging wasps, the rest of them can keep predating and pollinating.

I don’t mind wasps as long as they wasp their washing OVER THERE. just leave me alone, the outside is big enough

Oh yeah for sure, and I don’t mind Pneumoccocus chilling in my gut biome, just leave my brain membranes alone.

I was driving down the motorway in shorts and I noticed a wasp on my leg. I felt like I was being held at gun point

I still have a scar on my thigh from when I was running 9 years ago and a wasp stung me as I ran by at 7mph

Bee sting because they’re protecting themselve or the colony, wasp sting because they’re assholes

Wasps are great and I love them. They’re very pretty and tbh I have to imagine most people getting stung by them are complaining about a skill issue.

About a month ago a bunch of wasps built a nest right next to my gate where I leave and enter my yard every single day. Most of the time they completely ignore me. Every now and again one jumps off the nest and comes to investigate me. And then because I’m not an asshole and don’t strike first, it’s also not an asshole and returns to the nest after a couple seconds.

Leave them alone and they leave you alone, true of like 99% of the shit that’s on this planet.

No, time to kill them until they evolve a sense of personal space. A few flew too close while I was swiping, so I actually hit them with a broom.

Psh. We all know that clegs are the true scum of nature. Wasps are the dude bros of the bee worth. Like a midlife crisis lemon yellow race car that constantly gets into trouble as if they were born to recieve a Darwin award. They get drunk on fermented fruit, they constantly go out of their way to get into people’s homes and even build their hives in or on human homes if they can get away with it.

I have lost count of the times I have tried to help a wasp out of my house and they seem to actively avoid any openings to freedom and actively choose to give themselves CTE against the window glass.

I don’t like them. I will never like them, but I don’t hate them like how I hate clegs. Now there is a mistake of nature that I refuse to argue for, even if they are pOLLenaToRs too. Go fuck yourself, clegs. Wasps are cooler than your because they have color and speed and mosquitos are smarter than you because when they suck the blood of their victims, at least they are trying to be discreet about you. You’re the reason why horses and cows had to elongate their spine to make it a whip so they can flog themselves to keep loser bugs like you off their skin. You’re so bad at sucking blood discreetly that thick skinned animals had to evolve to slap you off them. What a failure you are, cleg. I hope you all go extinct.

You can avoid wasp stings in the exact same way as bee stings; not being a fucking idiot

That goes both ways. Wasps like to fuck around and find out.

Yeah, one came into my house the other day. Big mistake. Buddy got split in half by my bug a salt.

I appreciate what wasps do for the environment, but I’m fairly sure that I’m genuinely somewhat phobic of them, presumably stemming from getting stung by one when I was like 3 or 4. It’s become more manageable to an extent as I’ve gotten older, but to this day, seeing or especially hearing a wasp nearby still stirs a bit of fight-or-flight reflex in me.

I don’t go out of my way to kill them unless they’re actively nesting on my house or something, but I do wish them a very “go do your thing, just far away from me personally.”

I randomly got stung by a wasp whilst walking to work one day 🤷‍♂️ (back before I discovered that I was too disabled to hold down a job safely).

    dolphin good, shark bad

Be careful! Sharks bite! Here’s some wild footage of the apex predator biting someone. (Content warning: cuteness overload. Discretion is advised.)

That actually would have been bad if it was an adult shark. They were acting aggressive, and he just kind of sat there.

It would but since it’s a baby it’s like the marine equivalent of a baby jaguar or lion doing their best to look “I is fiewce! I bites!”.

Something landed on me, and I swatted it on instinct. Only then did I notice I had killed a wasp.

I’m pretty sure humans have liked bees and disliked wasps for a lot longer than most of us even knew there were sharks or dolphins.

I was stung like 4 months ago by one while riding a motorbike. In the neck. It left a damn scar. For nearly a month I looked like I had a hickey.
