Is that Taft in the S tier? And Teddy Roosevelt? Funny considering they had a falling out in 1912(?). Taft set a high bar for President. Probably the 2nd best President of the 20th century (FDR being the 1st). Back when the US had decent politicians.
Janx@piefed.social 2 weeks ago
Weird, it’s almost like capitalism ruins everything. GET THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS. Before it kills us all…
nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 2 weeks ago
This is why Taft deserves S-tier.
hector@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
Idk about taft, Roosevelt was hands down the man. We need him now. Fucking now!
The_Lurker@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Taft was a senator, the President, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He was very active in busting up monopolies. He was responsible for the direct elections of senators. He was a dedicated jurist and a true American intellectual. But the only thing he gets rembered for is being 300lbs. And having a bigger bathtub installed in the White House.

How in the hot holy fuck can you look at Wilson and NOT put that condescending racist anywhere above F?
sibannac@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
You would be suprised how much of an unknown Wilson is to many people. Most just see him as that one smart looking prez with round glasses that is not Teddy. Also text books in America tend to skim past his associations with the Klan. At least the ones I’ve read and was taught from.

Nixon is F
hector@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
Bush belongs in the worst category gtfo. Fucking piece of shit through and through. Fuck him.
Soulg@ani.social 2 weeks ago
That’s not what it’s measuring though lol
hector@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
Praytell what is it measuring then? Fuck bush junior. Bush senior wasn’t bad actually, he’s ,more progressive than democrats nowadays. Fucing shitshow hereabouts.

Ike had a bunch of problems and I know its about looks but seeing him next to Trump seems so incorrect

I feel feel like you’re judging the glosses on Truman too much
s@piefed.world 2 weeks ago
Truman’s glasses make him an enigma, perfectly balanced in the imperceptible centerpoint of C tier
YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
I don’t agree with Carter in F. Homie was an honest person who seemed to have a soul in pictures.
Ryoae@piefed.social 2 weeks ago
I would put George W Bush down in F as well.
Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Not that I care a lot, but putting GW above HW is a wild take. They both sucked, but only one of them ate paste and called his teacher “mom.”
dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 2 weeks ago
Really depends. The title says it’s by how much it looks like they have a soul behind them eyes. W looks like he’s got one. And that’s what made him as dangerous as he was. “I wanna have a beer with the man!”
Go have a fucking beer with him, then, but don’t give him access to the fucking oval Office!
hector@lemmy.today 2 weeks ago
Bush senior wasn’t that bad.
cmbabul@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
It’s really unnerving for me seeing old clips and pics of W in contrast to Trump. Don’t get me wrong W doesn’t deserve an ounce of forgiveness or leniency in perception of him. And his likability was what made him so dangerous.
But he also just feels like an actual human being, someone who enjoys things and has interests outside of using others for his own aggrandizement. Trump even when he’s being goofy is just fucking cruel and selfish about everything to everyone that isn’t kissing his ass.
The bar is below the floor
Can someone find W in the Epstein files please so I can be equally disgusted with both again.
Ryoae@piefed.social 2 weeks ago
What made W dangerous, isn’t actually so much him, himself. But, how much leverage others got through him and his background as the ideal republican model of the time, being white, christian and straight so maybe a little himself. Trump is merely dangerous because he’s throwing everyone in a loop, he’s too unpredictable. But Trump is one person, who can be managed and mitigated as evidenced by what Congress has done against him and even people he helped get appointed to in Supreme Court seats.
W was dangerous because, his entire administration was competent and worked with him in a competent manner. That is when Republicans are dangerous the most, is when they’re all collectively organized.
Trump’s admin is about as dangerous collectively as well, but his instability is what is undoing their hold. W might’ve been an idiot, but he was an idiot that somehow kept things in his party under control until late into his second term after the recession when Republicans needed a scapegoat because they all scapegoat everybody.
