There are already plenty of lefty influencers, the democrats want centrist neoliberal status quo ones. The one thing I’ll give the right is they realize people are fucking dissatisfied with business as usual and want change. Even if it’s horrific

- Comment on What games have you put the most hours into? 1 month ago:
Stardew Valley, Skyrim, and Halo 3 probably top my list. I dumped like 400 hours into Stardew during Covid lockdowns and a few hundred more after

I watched the movie Hush, a horror movie about a deaf woman, on mute without knowing until after it was over. I thought it was a really creative artistic choice

- Comment on [Même] Which movie was this for you? 2 months ago:
I’m actually the opposite, in the early 2000s it was hailed as being “as good as Pulp Fiction”. Rented it at blockbuster and was really excited, at the end of it all I thought was “that was hot pretentious garbage”. I revisited it during Covid lockdowns, still a shit movie

If all the game to movie adaptations weren’t studio led soulless cash grabs and some young filmmaker who loved a game’s story/world and passionately wanted to share it in their preferred medium I’d actually be interested to see it and it may actually be good

- Comment on Kurosawa’s Ikiru, rare Michael Powell and a new Flipside among our Blu-ray releases for August and September 5 months ago:
Ikiru is such a beautiful and powerful film, I wrote a short review of it in college for a film class where I called it Kurosawa’s finest film although not as influential as some of his samurai films. I think I’d stand by that assertion even if it’s been a long time since i revisited it, it’s so human
- Comment on Superheroes 5 months ago:
I agree with a lot of the points you make here, but I actually think Batman will stay popular as a series and not just because of fan loyalty.
In Kill Bill the titular character does a long monologue about Superman being the real person and Clark being the made up one and is his critique on human culture. It’s a fabulous scene but I disagree with the point, Clark grew up as Clark that’s the real person.
But I do think that’s an interesting way to spin Batman, because Batman is the real person and Bruce is the act and you could and i believe they already did the most recent movie play it up as a scathing critique of capitalism, but it’s really long and I only saw it the once.
