For me it’s Unreal Tournament 3
Warcraft 3.
They ruined it with Reforged, meanwhile so many games started as custom games. Really hoping The Scouring fills that niche again

Exodus of the Horde was my favorite part of that game.
I think it’s hard for me to differentiate which games didn’t get the recognition they deserved in their time, and which games I love are just too old for people to think about much anymore.
NOX is one of my all-time favorite ARPGs, but I remember it being pretty popular in its time.
Earth 2150 is probably my answer: it was one of the best RTSes of all time. OF ALL TIME. I don’t get why it never seemed to be popular.
SSX Tricky and SSX 3. Both were quite fun to play and I’ve played them both in the past few years.
SSX 3 was basically all I played back when that came out. That game was so fun.
I loved the semi-open world concept, I still miss the radio DJ!
They made it feel like things were actually happening in the world of the game, which most games still don’t do well.
Bingo. Only game I play on my PS2 emulator basically
Everyone seems very lukewarm on Infamous Second Son and I found it a really fun time
I platinumed it
SimCity 4. That was before the franchise went to shit.
I dunno why exactly, but I just don’t get the same enjoyment out of Skylines or other city builders.
UT2003 was so much fun, throwing yourself into the goal of bombing run was very satisfying.
Twisted Metal 2 was insanely fun and if you had it for the PC, it was even better. I had 6 different computers set up in various rooms in my house for TM2 parties since you could LAN everyone together. Couldn’t cheat off of other peoples screens either.
It’s still out there I believe, though it’s not the best port.
Conker’s bad fur day. The original N64 version was great for multiplayer as well.
🐿️ yesss
I just played this last week to test the emulator i have!
Biiirrrrdies
Settlers. Spend ungodly amount of hours in first and second.
XIII. only that people talk about it, but the awful remake. I think they remade it again, but a bit less worse?
The multiplayer was so awesome.
Yep! Remake was ass and should be considered a crime. At least everyone knows the remake sucks unlike some remakes that people accept blindly
The little cutscenes you got for headshots was great.
I never once met anyone on or offline that knows how awesome Cybernator was on SNES.
Impossible Creatures was so much fun, especially with friends. I also thought Age of Empires III was very good, even if it was pretty different from II.
Vietcong, sometimes it feels like only an handful of my buddies and me played it on the whole world.
Pull My Finger
Whacked! It was a third person party combat game for original xbox, my brother and I played it SO MUCH growing up. We still sometimes play and have fun, but anyone else that tries to play with us hates it
Reminds me of Bad fur day
Apogee’s Secret Agent. It got a lovely remaster a few years ago too.
A fun platformer that spoofs the spy genre.
Me and my friends used to get high and play geometry wars on the 360. Lots of fun passing the controller around to see who can get the farthest.
I still occasionally play it on my PS Vita, tough but satisfying game
Shadow run on the 360.
Nintendoland. Specifically, the mini games Animal Crossing: Sweet Day and Mario Chase.
The asymmetric gameplay was really fun. I ended up playing the Animal Crossing one with a couple of buddies until 3am one night, we were enjoying it so much. And Mario Chase was a staple for our group for years.
It’s a board game so I don’t know if it counts, but Mousetrap. If it’s a video game then Lemmings or Monster Bash :)
To be fair I did say a fun game. So it counts
n
(The sequels are just as fun, but I saw a post about n++'s 10th anniversary last night so I guess that doesn’t count.)
Ravaged. Great little Arena Shooter. A bit ahead of it’s time, I guess.
I used to love playing Netstorm and Darwinia.

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, a collaboration between Ensemble Studios and Lucas Arts to reskin Age of Empires 2 for Star Wars. The base game had campaigns for the OT and Phantom Menace and a bit later there was an Attack of the Clones expansion.
I would really love for them to port this to the AoE2 Definitive Edition engine and add more content.

Still can play it, and it’s still insanely fun.

I had no idea it was basically a reskin, I never got around to playing age of empires but really enjoyed galactic battlegrounds
