  That’s a safety hazard… Which means the break subscription plan isn’t optional. It’s mandatory. And you can only use the Mercedes authorized break pads, as third party breaks would present a safety hazard and are thus illegal. Failure to remain on the Mercedes Safe Subscription package will result in the forfeiture of you vehicle.

    I am surprised there is no DRM “approved” OEM brake pads. You already have to plug your brake pads in for the brake pad wear sensor for some cars. Wouldn’t be a stretch to run another wire and have a chip to identify itself so you can “keep yourself safe” by using OEM pads.

    “advanced auto driving” are already usually packaged as a subscription, just a matter of time before auto braking common on newer cars is moved to the subscription tier

  At least you got the windshield package. Most other cars come with the webcam view only. Pretty laggy.
