That was actually big big making sure you had no money to buy from big small. America used to be all about big medium but now big mega big has forced us all to big nothing or big small at best. It’s a big problem.

Sent this to my minimalist daughter

I love a good minimalism joke.
Reminds me of this short story from the early days of the internet.
Or maybe “blog post”, before we even called them that.

Ooh thrilling… I wonder how ‘nothing’ is forged…? (the short story)

I always envisioned it was a speck of dust on the floor somewhere.

I’ve got so many large format coffee table books on the topic of minimalism. I find them inspiring and they fill out the space on my bookshelves.
OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Well that’s just not ambitious enough. You need to wallpaper a room with minimalist coffee table books

“Big small”, was that one rapper, right? Didn’t know he pushed minimalism on us, then again, he did sing “mo money mo problems”.
nexguy@lemmy.world 1 year ago
He wasn’t really that much small, just sort of biggie small so that he would sell just a little bit more.

It’s literally true though. There’s so much minimalism themed shit on amazon and the likes that you can buy to “de clutter” your life. Not that they invented it but it’s certainly been commodified.

This post was clearly made by big big as an attempt to sell me more less for more

Yeah. More or less.

Minimalism is a scam by big corporations to sell lower wages

I knew the Scandinavians where up to something with their IKEA propaganda! We need to go back to crazy embroidery with gold highlights on everything. Just need to find the money…

I got a lot less and I’m a lot happy with it. I was able to take it home little by little in one single drive home.

It’s insane how much you can entertain yourself but just being really present
