- Comment on Frostpunk creators cancel "Project 8" and lay off staff amid concerns that "narrative-driven, story-rich games" don't sell 17 hours ago:
Because that’s literally what it is. Business courses are much closer to church sermons than actual classes. They don’t apply logic to things, they simply consult their already established beliefs for the path forward.

Aren’t those awful numbers? Like, a big successful AAA grant does way more than 1.5mil in it’s first week. If interest was there they’d be over 3mil by now.
- Comment on After much talk of an acquisition, Sony and FromSoftware parent Kadokawa announce "strategic alliance" 1 day ago:
It’s not the worst case scenario, but it’s still not good news for multiple industries.

- Comment on Core Keeper developer announced KYORA that looks suspiciously like Terraria where "every pixel is yours to shape" 6 days ago:
I’ve seen a few terraria likes but none have reached those vaunted heights, sadly

Luigi is a good person, so obviously he’d be the one to kill a monster
- Comment on Funko issue a statement about the itch.io take-down, while also apparently calling itch founder's mom 1 week ago:
What in the god damn? That’s seriously insane, hopefully funko takes some kind of hit.
- Comment on Dread toy-peddler Funko Pop gets cool, handsome Itch.io taken offline via dodgy "AI-powered" brand protection 1 week ago:
Man, funko needs to sink. That low quality trash does nothing but fuck up the environment when people inevitably toss it.
- Comment on I don't have a purpose in life and feel like a robot. This cannot be good for my mental health, but I don't know how or what to change. How do I change? 1 week ago:
If it makes you feel better, most people have no idea what they actually want and just follow whatever has been put in front of them.
- Comment on The next Dragon Age game might be another "reinvention", say BioWare, drawing parallels with Final Fantasy 2 weeks ago:
“we have no idea what we are doing” and “we don’t want to fuck up this badly again” but with more ego assuaging is what I’m hearing here.
- Comment on You’ve got ten days to pick up the original Warcraft I & II from GOG before Blizzard pull them, but GOG will support their preservation forever 2 weeks ago:
Eh, they weren’t that great.
- Comment on Project Zomboid set for a massive update that should get a Beta before Christmas 2 weeks ago:
The definitive zombie game, cataclysm dark days ahead. In my latest game i built a battle train.

So this latest wave of pointless attacks is to try to destroy the competition of their next console, yeah?
- Comment on No Man's Sky Head Claims Team Isn't Close To Being Done With Game's Content 2 weeks ago:
Idk, old Minecraft generation was excellent. All they really needed to do was make it literally deeper/taller and make the biomes wider. The extreme and weird landscapes were rewarding to explore on their own back then. Imo developers just need to be comfortable letting interesting landscapes from instead of boring, uniform ones like NMS does. The novelty would eventually wear off, sure, but it’d last a lot longer.
And community worlds is an excellent idea. Having custom planets, or hell even just things players have made in their games, show up would add a lot to any game like this.
- Comment on Riot Games is cracking down on players’ off-platform conduct 2 weeks ago:
On the one hand, i fully believe they should be able to target players they know are a problem without them strictly breaking TOS, but i tend not to completely trust corpos. Not that i care about riot games anyway.

I’m more of a cataclysm gal than zomboid, but that looks like a great update
- Comment on Assassin's Creed Shadows to Feature Denuvo & Mandatory Ubisoft Account Linking 3 weeks ago:
What the actual fuck? Is this game some kinda developer revolt? Are they trying to sink the studio?
- Comment on That lawsuit against Steam’s 30% cut of game sales is now a class action, meaning many other developers could benefit 3 weeks ago:
Didn’t the overgrowth developer make half of a game, release it, then fucked off into the aether? Why are they doing anything?
- Comment on Brazilian's impression on the united states(i have never been there and this is based on nothing) 3 weeks ago:

- Comment on There's a playable Disco Elysium 2 prototype in the wilds, according to a report on clashes between the "spiritual successors" 4 weeks ago:
I mean, a spiritual successor is absolutely on the horizon. It’s a genuine masterpiece, artists will be emulating it in some way for decades at least.

- Comment on Sony is in talks to buy Dark Souls and Elden Ring parent company Kadokawa 4 weeks ago:
This could unironically be a dark age for Japanese culture, if our experience with sony in Western circles is indicative of anything
- Comment on Sony reportedly looking to acquire Kadokawa, owner of ELDEN RING dev FromSoftware 4 weeks ago:
More than just that, they are big novel publishers, they own spike chunsoft, hell they even have their hands in tourism and some science labs! Idk the broader culture of Sony, but experience with their gaming branch says this will be the disaster of our times for otaku.
- Comment on Sony is in talks to buy Dark Souls and Elden Ring parent company Kadokawa 4 weeks ago:
That’s not just what’s at stake. Kadokawa is a massive company and this will hurt industries from books to anime to game development outside of fromsoft. On the publishing and consumer facing sides, btw. Apparently they even own a few scientific and tourism endeavors!
- Comment on Sony reportedly looking to acquire Kadokawa, owner of ELDEN RING dev FromSoftware 4 weeks ago:
Not just a few games, this is gonna hurt anime too.
