I can only say one thing: be the change you want to see. Nothing is going to change if nobody bothers doing anything
- Comment on Two in one stupidish question- Debate about United Healthcare CEO and best place to have it 5 hours ago:
Except that’s false because he did not murder anyone (that we know of). Be angry at the system and the government allowing it to exist not the ones using it as intended. Much of what I see here is jealousy of millionaires and virtue signalling instead of people truly suggesting change. Anyone here can start any business, go start a fair insurance business, no one’s preventing you, and that will actually help the issue instead of crying online
- Comment on Two in one stupidish question- Debate about United Healthcare CEO and best place to have it 5 hours ago:
this violent act of murder has done more towards equallity of healthcare for americans than thousands of people speaking could have hoped to achieve.
What exactly did it do to help with the equality situation? It’s delusional to think UHC hasn’t simply replaced its CEO and increased security. Business as usual.

Dying happy and accomplishing your dreams is much better than any amount of money because money is just a number. I have a good job and family and enough money that I don’t really have to think before buying something (even though for most i still do because I don’t like wasting and impulsiveness is a bad thing). I’ve seen and heard way to many stories of people delaying their retirement by “just one more year” and that ends up the year that they either get very ill, hurt themselves or just plain die, always with a huge pile of money. Money also shouldn’t be spent when old, because you cant enjoy it to the same degree

I want my parents to enjoy the money they worked their entire life for. I believe work is meant to live, and not the contrary where you live to work. I would 10000x rather my parents enjoy the effort they put for their money instead of dying of exhaustion without being able to use their money

I agree that some people like you may not be fit for the current way of doing things in terms of job research. But you have to remember that being socially able is also a very important part of the job at most companies, because very rare are the cases where you don’t work as part of a team. I would even say communication is a bigger part of the job compared to the actual brute skill for most companies. You can always learn or perfect a new programming language or platform, it’s a matter of reading. Soft skills like social abilities cant really be learned, and so this is why a lot of companies actually choose people who they think will fit in a team rather that who will close the most issues

Idk, in my area they knock on the door and it most often than not starts so early that were not even done eating. It’s usually so busy here that we have to stay at the door outside and we’re out of candies by the time the older kids start arriving when it’s actually dark

- Comment on At what point when learning a new language do someone become bilingual? 2 months ago:
I think I am basically 95% bilingual, my native language is not English, but it was thought in school from first grade (age 5 or 6) all the way to high school (17 years old), and then in post-highschool education, I also had 2 mandatory English courses. The thing is having learned so early is I was too young to realize when I could start entertaining a conversation in English without thinking because it was almost always like that for me.
I do think though that when you can think in your 2nd language without having to mentally translate in your head to your native language is when you’ve reached a level of fluency that is good enough to be called bilingual

People throw electric scooters and bikes in lakes and rivers the day they are released in the wild, I’m sure someone would take one and see what’s inside before throwing it in the water
- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 2 months ago:
The pixels from 6 to 8 use an optical fingerprint scanner, and optical scanners almost universally suck, because they use a tiny camera to see your finger through the display on your phone. Most phones including the pixel 9’s include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is more reliable, faster, doesn’t flashbang you in the dark, and has the potential to be much bigger (think lower half of the phone is the fingerprint scanner).
I haven’t had trouble with under display fingerprint scanners since I had my S23 (ultrasonjc), but my previous has an optical one and it was the worst thing I’d used.
