I remember when we used to eat 4 spiders a year. I just checked. Now the number has gone to go 8 before getting debunked again.
My computer will remember for me, I'm just along for the ride.

The good news is that as the climate warms, they’ll get bigger and that means we’re less likely to swallow them without choking.

and you’d think that after many years there wouldn’t be so many suicidal spiders anymore

Common knowledge is often imprecise, outdated, or completely wrong.

It used to be common knowledge to rub lemons on your nipples to stop leprechauns from stealing your dingaling but now I search for it and not a single result.

Me waiting for when the next time the Mandela Effect kicks in so I can see what interesting (aka: fucked up) shit the next parallel universe has.

Welcome to the parallel universe where the blobfish doesn’t actually look like that when it’s alive, it just gets swollen after it’s killed and taken to the surface because of the pressure difference

Almost everything I learned in school has changed/been found incorrect, outside of English and Math (and even a little bit of English as language evolves over time). From history finding new lore, to scientific discoveries being made/nullified that change our understanding of things.
It’s actually kind of amazing how far we’ve been able to go while working on incorrect assessments of things.

Nelson Mandela is alive again, but he’s scheduled to die next week

Wait is it Willim Penn or Sean Penn who founded Pennsylvania? I’m pretty sure, but not 100%
You don’t have to search but no one will ever know if you do.

Ever Google what year it is?
ByteOnBikes@slrpnk.net 2 months ago
No, Google is full of BS AI now and I ask the one true AI, ChatGPT.
UnfortunateShort@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Honestly, that’s a super green flag. I appreciate it a lot when people don’t blast some bs they think they have heard from whomever
ekZepp@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Yeah… Keep doing that, a lot, for the next 4 years. And take screenshots.

The more you learn about memory the more you realise that doing this is totally justified.
