Nearly felt suckered into buying a couple of books at the airport store… but nope, as much as I like the feeling of pages through my hands and not staring at a screen, I ain’t paying full RRP and I don’t have space for more books anyway. And I had a $50 Amazon voucher so phone kindle it is.
How do you feel about e book piracy?
Haha I have a stack on my ancient kindle. Been using Calibre on library ebooks for over a decade. I’m really bad at concentrating on reading these days though…
Airports are pretty much the only place I buy books (except on Audible). Consider me a sucker 😭
Man, there is just something romantic and satisfying about having a paper book at the airport and on the plane

So, I’m not normally a fan of Christmas fruit mince pies, BUT the local iga didn’t sell them all during Christmas time so they had them on clearance for 50c for a 6 pack last night!
Certainly beats the other thing they had on “clearance” which was a packet of shapes for $4
missed out on those 50c marshmallow santas this year. those things slap!

Not really related, but you reminded me that one of my workers from 2 places ago (the last resi) called me “Sherlock” for 4 and a half years. She told me how to do something I was already in the process of doing, so I said “no shit Sherlock” (I was 12. This was 2019.) Then I became the Sherlock lol. I saw her a few months ago, and I was still Sherlock lol
You coulda doublebluffed him, ACD sketched out some stories with the character not named Sherlock but sherrinford holmes. So technically that was his first name.

Um, isn’t Aotearoa New Zealand pretty much the same as Mount Fujiyama? Like doubling up when there’s no need to do so? I think I’d pick one and use that rather than both. Would depend on context I guess.
And we live in a city with a street named “High Street Road” which can be depended on to crack up visitors until they get familiar with Melb’s weird but practical road name conventions.
