You can have your personal preference, but Mint is fantastic. Especially for switching from windows, but not only.

Fair enough

Mint is lovely. You’re a tool.

That’s what you spent your energy on, and is the best you could come up with? Your mother is ashamed of you. I’d argue you’re the tool for now knowing how to use anything else but mint, fucking waste of oxygen you are.
I’m allowed to have a different opinion, I’m not your mother and don’t have to love you.

It sounds like you spent more energy on this than they did on calling you a tool. And you’re the one getting upset about someone having a different opinion. Your whole comment is projection.

Zorin user here. As far as Linux goes, Zorin is good. Mint is also good.

Do not listen to this guy. If you are a beginner and want arch use cachy.
syreus@lemmy.world 1 month ago
And if you are a beginner and don’t want arch , use nobara.

Do people get Arch as their first distro and succeed in using it?
ekky@sopuli.xyz 1 month ago
Unless we’re talking SteamOS or similar, then it just sounds like disaster waiting to happen.

EndeavourOS was my first, but not the same as naked Arch I guess
homes@piefed.world 1 month ago
Pfft, amateur. My first was some version of red hat that took me almost a week to download, then I had to compile it, and then load onto, like, eight floppies.

So far arch is my first and only distro. I moved to linux a year ago and decided to just jump in with Arch. I havent had any major issues.
mr_anny@sopuli.xyz 1 month ago
I don’t know. I did.

My college roommate told me to wipe my os and install arch not thinking I would do it but I did, and that was 14 years ago. It’s a fun experience but these days I just wanna throw a fedora ublue distro on stuff and use that.

Way ahead of you, friend.
