You can “don’t like this video” and then tell them you “don’t like this channel” on any video that gets recommended.

I’m so fucking sick of youtube recommending his garbage, I sped most of my time on breadtube so i don’t know how or why youtube decided I want to be reminded this waste of oxygen exists.

Yeah that means nothing to youtube, I’ve done that every time that ass hat appears and without fail in a few weeks/months there will be another one.

“never recommend channel” will get rid of the twit permanently.
some_random_nick@lemmy.world 2 months ago
That also works only for some time. In my case, blocked channels were recommended to me after about a year or two. Had to block them again.
asmoranomar@lemmy.world 2 months ago
It’s worse than nothing, it’s an engagement metric. It’s better to block it entirely with plugins or ignore it.

From your youtube wall, click the tree dots aligned vertically next to the title of the video under the thumbnail and select “Don’t recommend this channel” from the drop down menu.
You will have to do this for his alt channels and the twich clip channels as you see them on your youtube wall. Very soon he should vanish and you won’t hear about him except maybe from other channels who shits on him.
Very useful to get rid of shitty AI chanels as well.

If Google understood consent the problem wouldn’t be there in the first place.
reev@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
I dunno, it’s been working for me, just figured I’d throw it out there, that’s all. I wasn’t expecting a sort of Spanish Inquisition.
ayyy@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
Isn’t that how Spanish Inquisitions typically go?
the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 2 months ago
I meant no hostility, sorry if it came off that way. I’m glad it worked for you, maybe some day I will be successful as well.

Oh is this an actual person and not just generic internet guy?
Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 2 months ago
That’s a real person?

Can he not spare any YouTube money to hire a housekeeper to come once a week like wtf?
Soulg@ani.social 2 months ago
The filth is part of his brand, unironically

For chromium based browsers, this extension allows you to block channels. It is also available for firefox. It just doesn’t block YouTube shorts. I blocked that guy a long time ago.
MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Use YouTube Unhook if through a browser. Blocks all recommendations. Also good to stop doomscrolling shorts. Definitely recommended if most of your intentional youtube use is one channel (breadtube is a channel, right?)
WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 months ago
Idk what I did, but I no longer get him somehow.

“Don’t reccommend channel” from the options next to the video.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have an idea why a major US corporation would absolutely love to shove a pro-Zionism and pro-fascism streamer down everyone’s throats.
Teppa@lemmy.world 2 months ago
I’ve noticed he does a shit ton of videos on everything. I’ve looked up recent events like the NDP race card thing that happened recently in Canada and he was one of the only sources.

No particular conspiracy theory needed - because it generates clicks and views, even if you dislike the content. This thread itself being an example.
