You would think so but often it’s the only thing left when the others are out or broken.
- Comment on The price of soda in 2017 4 days ago:
20 was a fairly common size at Walmart and some grocery stores, it was usually cheaper and there was only a few types.
- Comment on The price of soda in 2017 4 days ago:
No it’s fairly common when you include coffee and water in food for people to get by with rarely having just drink a glass of pure water.
- Comment on Does the USA have gifted schools or was Spider-Man Homecoming lying? 4 days ago:
Stuff in NYC is frequently an outlier and only exists that way there and it doesn’t really mean anything. Most places it’s a different class not an entire school.

- Comment on Those moutains are so quaint 1 week ago:
Correct, barbeque from the south, dessert from the Amish, Italian from New York and nearby Italian grandmother’s. If you get a burrito from some place that’s bad that doesn’t mean there isn’t top tier food there.
- Comment on onions 1 week ago:
There are multiple way and I disagree with some of the established methods. Slow can make them into much if you add to much liquid. You can get them cooked and caramelized faster on higher heat, you just have to pay attention and know what you’re doing. Really slow gets a result and it’s easier but I don’t favor it.
- Comment on onions 1 week ago:
Onions aren’t the same, they have a mild flavor that blends with most everything. Cooking it with stuff can make them mostly disappear and just add a mild savory note. Eating caramelized onion on top is a strong flavor but most of the time it’s melded in.
- Comment on onions 1 week ago:
Cooking them too slow can do that, it’s better to have less time and hotter. They stay slightly former and drier with more of a grilled texture. Adding liquids can make it act more boiled.
- Comment on This is what happens when Billionaires own the news media. 1 week ago:
It’s been a very clear hard right shift for Wapo, and it’s in the tone of the articles and what isn’t reported as well. It’s closer to Bloomberg in being pro business anti Left and protective of billionaires.

Open pit mining doesn’t require that much energy or labor, and they’re relatively safe for the same reason because being underground is much more dangerous.
- Comment on Cool Japan 🌸 3 weeks ago:
I know, but there is a real issue with small historical cities like with Venice where tourists can swamp a city that can’t really handle it.
- Comment on Cool Japan 🌸 3 weeks ago:
The only one that is relevant is Kyoto and New Orleans which both have cramped historical areas that can be an issue with too many tourists.

Majel was fine with her voice being used for computer so I don’t think there’s any problem there.

Green hydrogen only works when you have more energy than needed and you’re 100% renewable electricity. You could have done that with nuclear power in the 60s in theory. But solar in abundance is the only likely route it will work.

You don’t have to be good to be an actor, the quotes is pointless and stupid. If you’re an actor in a movie you’re an actor.

No one does is the point, because it’s typically not needed.
- Comment on Alternative medicine 4 weeks ago:
Taking the appropriate dose of ivermectin for your body weight should be fine, it’s effective at getting rid of parasites. And doctors really aren’t the thing for that, unlike vets they’re not really checking if you have parasites since most people don’t.

The specific pot matters a great deal and it’s usually a smaller pot with a thick wall, because it burns easily when you make the roux.
- Comment on Is it theoretically possible to construct a self reproducing mechanical device? 5 weeks ago:
If you make it simple, all you need to do is have it be yes you can if there is at least one instance where it could work. So your question is too vague, if you want something that can make a hole in dirt or build a car you have a very different concept. And if you want something actually functional it will need a computer and if you can just slot in a compact system on a chip but have it be otherwise self assembling with assuming it’s in a warehouse full of parts then the answer is yes. But you’re really just talking about can you have a set of equipment bundled together and the answer is petty much always that having special dedicated equipment in designated areas works better with assembly line production in a full scale factory. Sadly the point of a entirely self replicating device is really just the romantic aspect of pure efficency. But it’s beaten as always by boring economic factors.
