Because we don’t want the British to feel included, that’s why we keep using it.
- Comment on the Home Alone house then and now 2 days ago:
Yeah, and that’s kinda the point, that’s what we think a “home” looks like.
- Comment on the Home Alone house then and now 2 days ago:
It feels so sterile. The first one actually looks like a family lives there, the second looks like a motel.
- Comment on The Russians shot down one of their own planes 2 days ago:
Imagine a stealth aircraft being shot down by Russian air defence.
How embarrassing.
- Comment on Anon is 23 2 days ago:
I can’t tell what you’re saying.
- Comment on Anon is 23 2 days ago:
So why are you arguing with me then?
- Comment on Anon is 23 2 days ago:
To be fair, being able to make a good impression to the boss will help you even today. It won’t guarantee a job, but you can make sure your resume at least gets seen by a human.
- Comment on Planned Armageddon Incoming 3 days ago:
This platform just doesn’t do satire, does it?
Your genius is wasted here my friend.
- Comment on Anon is 23 3 days ago:
You seem to think it will.
- Comment on Anon is 23 3 days ago:
Yeah, because thats going to make all the difference.
- Comment on Anon is 23 3 days ago:
Does their shitty instance really censor the word bitch?
What a silly place you come from.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 days ago:
Take your meds.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 days ago:
I was thinking exactly the same thing, take your meds dude.

I do think rate limiting new accounts would solve a lot of problems though. A new user could post something if they have a question to ask, for example, or something they really want to post, but it limits the damage someone like this can do.

I guess she was mild enough that she didn’t piss him off?
- Comment on What, all of you? 4 days ago:
It would actually be quite interesting to see what Lemmy looks like with this list in place, it will probably just be Lady Butterfly and a handful of others. He even banned Violet.
- Comment on Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, kiddo 4 days ago:
The royal navy had a similar method to maintain morale and keep sailors happy.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 days ago:
OP is way too articulate for them to be the same person, the guy we’re talking about is a semi literate troglodyte.
Also, it’s a problem worth discussing, I actually unfollowed this community because of the spam for a while.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 days ago:
The posts I saw definitely had that vibe, a lot of children pictured.
Not someone I’d trust hanging around a school.
- Comment on [deleted] 4 days ago:
How is a brand new account able to just start spamming posts like this? I’m surprised new accounts, or accounts that haven’t posted, aren’t either rate limited or need to have the post approved by a mod.
Also, what a loser.
- Comment on I made the Tesseract shitlist! 4 days ago:
There was a secret block list built into the software that wasn’t disclosed to the users, the screenshot above is from that list.
It’s a badge of pride for many, others are just confused as to why they’re on it.
- Comment on I made the Tesseract shitlist! 4 days ago:
I imagine he just banned them all as he came across them. But yeah, definitely pretty unhinged behaviour.
- Comment on who came up with this plot? 4 days ago:
Yeah, India has some cultural issues, to say the least. Very, very strange place.
- Comment on I made the Tesseract shitlist! 4 days ago:
Are you a happy noodle or a sad noodle about that?
- Comment on I made the Tesseract shitlist! 5 days ago:
Honestly quite possible, there’s a lot of users here who just don’t understand the concept of satire.
- Comment on [deleted] 5 days ago:
I don’t fully understand the technical side of things either, and I’m on his silly little list.
- Comment on [deleted] 5 days ago:
It’s not normally like this. Also, this dude actually holds very little power here.
- Comment on Civic duty 5 days ago:
I’d just stop showing up at that point, that’s ridiculous. Financial hardship is a legitimate reason to get out of jury duty where I live.
- Comment on Civic duty 5 days ago:
Depending on how long the trial lasts, that wouldn’t even cover travel expenses.
That’s effectively working for free.
- Comment on Civic duty 5 days ago:
That would barely cover your costs to be there.
