He’s a mora from Utah with family in CIA, and his job is to be an influencer than false flags the nation government into overreaction. He’s the reason ICE went into Minnesota, and recently made a video about a California’s USP with apartments above it, so they share the same address, and claimed that couple dozen people use the same voting address, therefor illegally voting. So if you see an increase in ICE in California, he’s why.

I wondered about “California’s UPS with apartments above it”, so I searched. And, I found that Costco is building apartments above one of their stores.

Nick Shirley, the “Minnesota Somalian daycare fraud” guy. If you watch him talk, or do much of anything, it is pretty clear he’s not particularly sharp.
Lighttrails@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
He did an interview with channel 5 and called out Andrew Callahan afterward saying they chopped the interview to make him look bad. Andrew responded and explained that they edit interviews in such a way to make them smoother without stops to clarify questions, ums and ahs. He also provided behind the scenes footage. This Nick Shirley guy isn’t very articulate or well versed in what he claims to be.

Here’s Callaghan’s response with the behind-the-scenes stuff for anyone who’s interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlyNHpEe_k4

I tried to watch that interview (not this well-deserved rebuttal, this original) and just couldn’t. Despite Callaghan and team’s best (sincere) efforts, Nick just comes off like the fucking moron he is.
Ignorant about the things he himself has chosen to squawk about, while also truly lacking the mental “equipment” to engage with the topics in any complexity.
Like, any complexity, he seemed completely unable to manage the difference between the ideas “95% of Somali immigrants are law-abiding” and (his claim) “89% of fraud in Minnesota is committed by Somalis”. Those can actually both be true and they aren’t even very complicated but it was too much for him.
To be clear I’m not weighing in on those stats whatsoever, just the fact that he could not navigate the nuances between them at all.
He’s not just wrong and hateful, he’s flat out incapable of understanding the exact phenomena that he somehow feels called to scrutinize and then scream about. I’d love to just call him a clown and move on but his flavor of horseshit is SO dangerous these days, as we see!

This is fantastic. Just goes to show what kind of people that Shirley guy surrounds himself with already. He probably believes that being interviewed should only reflect the views he agrees with and not be a fair nuetral ground where if you fuck up then you fucked up. The people he surrounds himself with all edit those parts out which is half the problem on it’s own. I always liked Andrew for that reason, he definitely never seemed to take 1 side and has no problem showing captured footage of you making yourself look bad.

Holy shit, the dude grew up in a place called Farmington.
That’s the most made up sounding place name I’ve ever heard.
bitchkat@lemmy.world 7 hours ago
It’s a exurb on the outskirts of Minneapolis. Mostly oil refineries but has a private high school with a really good hockey team.

The town I lived in in the US was literally called “Barnes”.
The town center consisted of a shop called “Jim’s Bait”.

As someone who grew up in a nearby school district, absolutely checks out lmao

To be fair, all names are made up, and not just for places. But yes, Farmington is a little more simplistic than say Louisiana.
