Call the fire dept and say youre concerned it might be blocking those exiting the building, (especially the handicapped) from clearing the area of a potential fire in a safe and orderly fashion.
I did this once when my neighbors landscapers parked blocking in my front door, despite me catching them at stand asking them not to park on the yellow line, when I needed to get my mom to a post-op checkup (making that the only viable door as I had to carry hwr down the stairs, and the back is 2 flights compared to a half)
Not only was the fire dept there in like 5 mins, they had a bunch of guys flip the truck over to roll it out from between cars on either side, they broke the windows to throw a tow strap through the cab, dragged it upside down out into a place the wrecker could get it, and pulled it upside down onto the flatbed.
Then they helped me get my mom down the stairs as a bonus. Extra bonus was they landscapers tried to sue the homeowner for the loss of the truck over their refusal to provide offscreen parking (my street fills up despite the town’s requirement for adequate onstreet parking intended for workers like landscapers)
They ended up dropping the neighbors house, which due to the publicity got them on every landscaper in town’s blacklist. The inability to get landscapers ended up making the house no longer atractive enougb for short term rentals, first replaced by a long term rental, and eventually they sold, and now there’s a real, working class family there!

My town requires a certain amount of onstreet parking be alotted based on number of houses on a road. Iirc it works out to about one car length per 3 houses. I live on a narrow one way road, (parking only on the right hand side, but houses on both sides- the road is too narrow so a driveway on the left becomes inaccessible with a car parked across it on the right) that has now hit its maximum on non parking areas, which has started to have an interesting effect; one house was demoed and rebuilt with a garage included. They were not allowed to have the driveway open onto our road, as that would necessitate a yellow line in front of it, and ended up having to spend ~$1M to buy access rights to connect through the neighbor on the other side’s property.
There are currently 2 lots that could in theory be subdivided with new houses on them, that currently cannot be approved for building, because adding even one house would create the need for one new, impossible to eke out, on-street spot (even if they had a driveway, its about required parking for home service industries, guests, etc)

I live in a state that has a rule that essentially all ‘outdated’ laws that use gender are updated to be gender neutral.
A couple years ago, someone pointed out this caused a bit of a problem in our beachside town, as technically the town bylaw that prevented women from sunbathing/ swimming topless, now read 'All people are banned from having exposed breasts and ripples in public, with a 75$ minimum fine. (Including men)
The two women who brought this to town meaning proposed a simple update, strike the old rule, and replace without everyone can be topless around the beach, but must be covered up down town. After all, its was 2023, and the Puritans had gone extinct as a religion 280 years ago.
This sparked a hilarious 2 hours of public comments.
My favorite was one lady getting up and being apoplectic about the thought of having to explain breasts to her grandsons and appealing to everyones sense of modesty. Her friend then got up, and was just like ‘didnt I run into you on <whatever foreign vacation resort laazt winter? Not only were you topless, your bikini was so small your hoohah was falling out all over the place!’
People kept forgetting the ‘no gender words’ thing, so theyd propose a rule to sneak around the gender issue, that read something like ‘no person may expose female nipples’, and the town councilor would very dryly read that back to them as "in practice that law would read “no person my expose human nipples”. All you’ve done is shift liability if someone helps another take their shirt off.
At one point, someone got smart with, “no Non-Dormant human sexual reproductive organs may be exposed in public” (meaning men’s breasts were okay)
Town council thought about it for a minute, and just said “that sounds an awful lot like 'youre allowed to sit on a bench down town, fully naked, as long as you dont get an erection.” "More seriously though, while that law doesnt fail the test outright, it is most guaranteed to get hit lawsuit and struck down before we ever get to beach season. "
On bro got up and claimed if the town took away his right to hop into his topless jeep, shirtless, to go on a beer run, he’d ‘take the law into his own hands, every day it was sunny out.’ Madame Moderator, as she prefers to be called, countered with “well then…” and “I believe i spea k for the entire town, when say I sincerely hope you never grasp any part of the law!”
Eventually we settled with “all people may be topless on public property within <town name> except where prohibited for reasons of sanitation or saftey” boring, but a win. I still have yet to see anyone topless outside of the nude beach. Well, Besides a coue female friends who lgo skinny-dipping whenever we have a night-time beach party, but the old laws werent exactly stopping them before, either.

If might be talking out of my ass, but I vaguely remember there being something about road asphalt compositions being different- using more oil in the binder up north, to keep the freeze/ thaw from destroying the road, which also preventings the water from soaking i to it as deeply, making ice accumulate less, (more melted snow runs off the road instead of staying on the surface, and being less slick and adhered into the road.
The payoff being the extra binder makes roads breakdown faster, not to mention having them melt and become malleable under car tires if it gets too hot.

Well, theres 2 ways to parse ‘no stupid questions’.
No question is stupid, implying all questions are valid here.
No (asking) stupid questions- this is a place for questions with either merit from the level of discourse they spark, or the value of the answer.
This sub is of course the former.

When I managed in restaurants, I made it a policy to not give freebies to assholes - the more shameless they were the more of a dick id be about it, to the point of loudly comping deserts or giving diacounts to tables for “being such a pleasure to have dine with us.”
Sometimes id give a nearby table a 10% off (a discretionary ‘whenever’ discount we had programmed in, usually unde locals/ friends or similar) then ‘apologizing’ for the disruption caused to their experience.
It worked, too. Had some of the most well known ‘difficult customers’ in town trained to being over the top nice to my staff, in hopes of getting the discount. I also had a lot of the die hard assholes to the point where theyd just leave if they saw me working because they knew their crap wasnt going to play.

That also makes sense from a tech standpoint. Ocean salmon aren’t safe for sushi, they have have too many parasites. You need to either catch them from the river they spawn in before they get to the ocean for the first time, or from a lake, which iirc Japan didnt have any lakes with salmon populations. (Harvesting from streams at scale is also a bad idea, because they wont have had a chance to breed so youre going to be killing off a portion of the population)
Even then its dicey; for raw, you really want farmed salmon, that are bred in a tank, with no parasites in the water.
So it wasnt until global shipping and really the rise of factory farmed fish, that safe enough populations of salmon existed.

Would be way easier- no presumption of innocence or due process for possessions, and the government can just auction off everything and allocate the money to budgets before a lawsuit can conclude, the say ‘too late’
