If it’s good enough that I finished it I’m gonna let the creator keep the money (and pay close attention to the reviews next time, because I agree that less than 2 hours is a little short for that amount of entertainment) and make myself feel better by treating it like a donation to a good cause.

Those were the sorts of stories I heard about unions when I was growing up. Want to clean up a mess? Sorry, union rules say you have to wait for another guy to get here to do it.
I always felt like unions just got in the way of doing things logically or quickly, but I’m pretty sure those stories and comments were intended to do that. Nowadays I know better, and I agree with you: we need unions now more than ever.

That makes sense and I’ve felt the same with a few bits they’ve done recently, and they harp on things a little too long sometimes (Lyndon Johnson’s nuts, for example), but I still think he/the writers make compelling arguments and present them in interesting ways.
It’s amusing and informative, perfect for laugh-crying about the state of the world.

I’ve been looking into this recently because The Algorithm wanted me to (I don’t always do what The Algorithm wants, but sometimes it’s really fucking spot-on so maybe I’m just institutionalized) and I simply don’t see why this is really any different from anything else available.
Is it really that much better? Is it the same thing just with better execution? As we’ve seen time and again, popular doesn’t always mean good.

Knowing very little about the national guard in particular, I would argue that the standards are there but the enforcement isn’t.
In the Navy, at least, physical training was never a serious priority except for more specialized commands. The standards were identical, but the commands where PT was emphasized were the only places where a majority of people were fit. There’s way more to it than just standards.
