I feel like this should’ve been discussed before moving in together. Still not too late to talk though - if he’s even a little bit considerate, he’ll agree to only smoke outside.

The irony is that before M1, while they were on x86, Apple computers were not that different than the rest besides having special motherboards and funky firmware. Even ARM now isn’t proprietary tech, it just isn’t adopted by the others (yet). All in all it’s an artificial distinction so that some people can be separated from their money.

Magic Lantern probably. Don’t know about compact cameras, but this thing was big with DSLRs 10-15 years ago. What’s pretty impressive to me is that it didn’t require flashing the firmware, it just booted from a memory card.

Yeah, some of them like this one are not very well thought out, but I think for the most part they are - and when you put them in context, they should be searchable too. I’m saying this as someone who has never owned anything from Apple and who generally dislikes the brand.

Can’t not think of Apple who have been doing simple names like this forever. But contrary to this here, it seems to work in the Apple ecosystem because over there things like that mean one thing.

Someone probably wanted to post it somewhere where you can’t see the image in its full height (e.g. Instagram), but cropping it like that required the bubble to be redone.
Not excusable, of course, and disrespectful to the artist - I’m just trying to think of the reasoning.

That’s if you can choose a middle name at all. In many places (including where I am) you only get to choose the given name, then the middle name is for example the father’s, and the last name is the family name.

The irony of yet another fintech that enables you to do everything from your phone and yet wants the staff in the office. Screw them. You’ll find something better (if you haven’t already).

Install a custom launcher - this way you can mostly expect it to stay consistent across major upgrades.
I understand the reasons for liking the stock experience, but that comes with the risk of getting an overhaul every once in a while.

Science laws won’t cease to exist, but if you wipe out everyone’s memory, their knowledge of that science will cease to exist - so they’ll have to figure it out from zero - and there’s no guarantee that there won’t be another placeholder in a sense (i.e. what religions have been historically) for what’s yet to understand.

If you have to just open a website related to work, it’s fine, but in some instances, in order to access work resources, the phone has to be managed by the company, so this creates an obvious concern about private data. I guess “taking pictures and using social media” from the example here doesn’t fall under that category, but that doesn’t mean it’s the same for other cases.
Even if it’s not that complicated, it might be just about separating work from private life. If I have to use a phone for work, I’d personally much prefer it to be a separate device that I can turn off and put in a drawer when I don’t need it.

One of the few positives of today’s designs is the better screen-to-body ratios that we have. This would mean that we can have a 5" screen in the same physical body size that previously used to house a 4 point something inch screen. But for some reason the latest flagship small phones are from a few years ago - I guess sales figures show they’re not sought after.
