No, once he kicked his heroin habit, he kicked her to the curb.

I had a friend who tried the same thing, bars and such. He didn’t try anybody in his friend group and he was more ir less isolated at work, so there was no real pool of people to look into. I suggested getting a cheap seat at the ballpark and he balked saying he didn’t like sports. I told him even if he walked the concourse, there were still folks he could interact with. He ended up finding some girl who was an actual prostitute and got him hooked on drugs.
- Comment on Would it be weird if I took something my neighbor put out for trash? 1 month ago:
Where I live, there are people who make a decent amount of cash by grabbing whatever metal they can find out of the trash and taking it to scrapyards. There are a couple of trucks that swing past my house a few times the night before and the day of trash pickup. And myself, I grabbed two bikes by just knocking on the door and asking.

It is well appreciated.
- Comment on Every show with a suicide now has a disclaimer with a suicide hotline at the beginning. Is there any evidence that these warnings make a positive difference? 2 months ago:
I struggle with suicidal ideation problems. They have been so severe in the past that I almost went through it. While not all suicidal scenes trigger me, there are a few. And I have found that having the warnings help me from shutting off the TV and running off in a crying fit. I know it’s coming and can prepare myself. And knowing that the hotline is there has been one of the most comforting things I know of. I may have never called, but it’s there for when I can’t deal on my own. So yes, the warnings make a positive difference for me.
- Comment on Was Elvis Presley a pedo? 2 months ago:
I agree with you on that. And the changes still are going on. I remember in school in the 90’s it wasn’t uncommon for a college guy to date a high school girl with no real repercussion. Not saying that it was right back then, just looked at differently.
- Comment on Was Elvis Presley a pedo? 2 months ago:
I won’t say acceptable, as there were still issues and such, but it was definitely persecuted differently.

Priscilla was 14 when they met, and he managed to convince her father to let her live with him. I blame the father just a much since he knew what was going down.
- Comment on Why isn't jerking off more valorized as an easy dopamine hit that's also literally good for you? 5 months ago:
I did it twice today. The second time wasn’t as epic, but damn was the one this morning great.
- Comment on Is there any significance to people using emojis that match their skin tone? 5 months ago:
I don’t use emoji very much. The most I use is when I’m working and sometime asks me to take on a task in Slack. There is a thumbs up all emoji that is just the skin tone shifting to all the colors. I like it because then I don’t have to give a fuck about it.

- Comment on Why do people still eat beef when we know it's terrible for Earth? 6 months ago:
Beef makes money. Just like cars, oil makes money.
- Comment on What will happen to large companies once poor people have no more money to use? 7 months ago:
Like I can with Klarna, Affirm, Zip, any number of credit cards, etc.

I used to root my phone and then could use the hotspot without my provider knowing.
- Comment on Why didn't anyone warn me!? 10 months ago:
The land mass is pretty large on its own giving it continent status, but the who of it sits on a single continental plate if my memory serves me right.
- Comment on Does anyone feel like an actual adult? 11 months ago:
I’m 42. I have blue hair, watch cartoons, play board games, wear novelty shirts, no I am not an adult. Until I have to be.
- Comment on Why do people say that "return to office" is about raising commercial real estate prices? 1 year ago:
The more a building is useful, the more the surrounding area is worth. If nobody is at the office, no one will rent the store fronts in the building. No renters, lower real estate price.
- Comment on What are some alternatives to bars that stay open late for folks that don't drink alcohol? 1 year ago:
When I was younger, there were some places with a club atmosphere that didn’t serve. For whatever reason, no booze. They became hang out spots for teens and the like. There was also a strong coffee shop culture, and one or two that stayed open just as late as bars. But in a post-covid world, many of those places shut down and new places like that close early.
