Oscars are a high school popularity contest… Nothing more

Loved it back in the day, but ran into it on one of the streaming services last year. The acting is bad :(
Buck Rogers has actually held up pretty well though

Firefly
Buffy
MASH
NCIS ( I know it is still going but the old seasons are over 25 years now)

It’s not very good :/

This describes, many Linux software suites…
Most of the people devoting time to foss projects are uber technical geeks that at best consider UX design an after thought if they consider it at all.
TBH it’s probably one of the biggest things holding Linux back today.

Funny because I tried 4 different distros before I found one that would load on my laptop… Bazzite.

Exactly!
My parents were fine with me watching most R rated movies at ten…
A LARGE group of religious but jobs wanted the Harry Potter movies banned… And a non-insignificant group that wanted the Teletubbies banned…
- Comment on Roblox CEO tells parents that “if you're not comfortable, don't let your kids be on Roblox”. 4 weeks ago:
Although I’ve heard of the game, I’m unfamiliar with it.
Can you elaborate on what exactly is inappropriate ?
Also, is it something some parents evaluated and are OK with their children being exposed to?
Example: my parents were ok with me watching R rated movies with them when I was like ten…

That’s exactly how it works, what are you talking about? There are government requirements to be met for a dog to be considered a “service dog”. It’s not some made up term and has nothing to do with poverty, disability or anything else…

I’m a firm believer that if dolphins had a way to create tools and a way to create a written record to pass on knowledge they would rule the world.

Why do people do this?
Like a SINGLE HEAVILY TRAINED animal, disproves a generality…
This goes for many things, it is constant.
Has no one taken high school statistics???

Yeah the math doesn’t add up. Maybe they bought a bunch of toppings? Pizza places crush you for ordering individual toppings.

It’s to push you into paying for the membership. But yeah they totally rip off lazy people.
I have a GrubHub membership but only because Amazon was offering a 3 year deal last year. I think they may have bought GrubHub…
Some places also charge more on the services to make up for the cut the online service gets.

- Comment on Are dating apps a fraud since the beginning? 2 months ago:
They were “decent” 14 ish years ago. And they worked a fair amount. I know married friends who met on them.
That said the Internet in general has fallen off a cliff with enshitification…
I know people today that still use them and do ok.
“Free” anything is going to be complete shit.
Like anything else in life it takes work, during 8 months I was doing it I spent 10-15 hours on it. And that wasn’t “scrolling” profiles. I was constantly tweaking my profile, looking for was to improve it. Also when I did “match” someone I worked on my greetings, interesting things to say, etc.
I would even keep snippets of texts. (The one I was on had a question/answer part.
Dating is a lot of work for many people.

Yeah the EMR and data driven quality requirements of Obamacare made it almost impossible for a single doctor practice. The costs are just too high.
Had in hospitals wanting a feeder network of patients that can be directed to “their” hospital.
And you have hospitals gobbling up every practice they could in the 2010s.
