I mean most don’t go to their PhDs because it is effectively training for being an academic. Except there are very few jobs for academics so you’ll be an adjunct professor getting paid poverty wages.

Cardboard is recyclable so long as you don’t print on it and it’s the brown corrugated stuff. Which is a big ask.
Most of it doesn’t get recycled into more boxes though. Think like those cup holders you get at a take out place.
The other thing is trees area renewable resource in theory but we use a lot of fossil fuels to harvest and process then.

Same.
The people I’ve noticed complain seem to buy giant drinks and let them sit around for a while.
Never been a fan of flat warm soft drinks myself.

Can probably only breath while sitting up.
The Ven diagram of pugs I’ve met whose owners tell me they got surgery to assist breathing is almost a circle

Can we get a link from The associate press or Reuters and not a British tabloid.

I mean that is the best pill. It’s like inheriting a free quarry. I could instantly undercut every other quarry and would not need to maintain any of the crushers or land to provide any type of gravel.
I’m definitely choosing that one for sure.

Their livelihood doesn’t hinge on playing the game. That’s just incidental. They depend on interaction with the audience and stopping to read and understand something is dead air.

One of the first things they will teach you in engineering design is to start by simplifying the model. So if you’re trying to figure out something like the surface area is a fish you assume it’s a cylinder then the math is easy. Same thing with assuming the object is in a vacuum. If you do that you ignore wind resistance and it makes the math easier. You can come back later and take the wind resistance into account.

I mean I’m pretty sure the American system is defined using SI units so it’s mostly because of American exceptionalism and a fetish for unit conversion.

The quality of the media was not as good perhaps but I do miss when the world moved just a little bit slower.
No 24h news cycle, no social media, no being pressured to be connected and available to work at all times.

I mean this is sorta one of the things an autocracy does well. You might get substandard work and a lot of graft but when the order comes down no one gets to complain when they run a train line through your house.

- Comment on I'm doing my part! 2 months ago:
The reality is more like there are just a few massive suppliers for restaurants. Sysco just offers paper straws and removes plastic ones and every establishment just orders a different SKU the next week.
- Comment on I'm doing my part! 2 months ago:
Honestly I don’t give one shit about the paper straws. I wonder if the people who don’t like them let their drinks sit for hours and chew on the straw till their soggy. Every paper straw I’ve had has lasted the length of time it takes me to drink the drink.
Still banning those things but not fucking everything else in the supermarket that is packaged in plastic is such a massive and stupid waste of everyone’s time and effort. Such an imperceptible inch forward they almost deserve no praise at all.

- Comment on Stardew Valley dethrones Valve classic as Steam’s top-rated game 2 months ago:
I preface this with the caveat that all grants are subjective and you can like what you like.
Stardew Valley is a love letter to the harvest Moon games(and I guess rune factory as well). If you have ever encountered those games you immediately know what to do in Stardew.
I think where Stardew is different is that it came later and benefited massively from the “cozy game” popularity.
While I played harvest Moon on a super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and Gameboy my girl friend who did not have that exposure growing up loves Stardew. This generational and gender Crossing game has tapped markets that were not available back then. Couple that with the fact that at this point you can play that game on basically any platform from phone to console, new and old and it’s totally understandable why this headline might be true.
