  I didn’t start dev until after the chrome hegemony but I assume ie was only compliant because MS was the one writing the standards. Much like how chrome is essentially the defacto standard now.

  Many datacenters are just audible. 50 tractor trailer sized gas generators are plenty audible from a good distance.

  Enterprise Hardware can have redundancy but things still break.

  Sometimes management already has someone in mind for a job but corporate policy is it must be posted. Hiring is always a risk and people will try and derisk by hiring a known quantity but for those who don’t know this already they are going through the already arduous task of applying for something they were never going to get.
