- Comment on Major media company asks itself why major media companies aren't exposing what's going on--"Where's Mitch McConnell?" mystery exposes media failures 16 hours ago:
Media is owned by the Epstein class.
This wasn’t always true. But after the consolidations and mergers the last 40 years, there are now very few media companies.
And most of the ownership is by those who need investigating the most themselves

If steam changed ownership and control, there is nothing stopping the new people from doing things similar to other big companies.

- Comment on Do you think that Trump is being blackmailed? 2 weeks ago:
The thing about people like Trump, is that they always do worse than the most vile speculations about them.
I’m sure over his life he has been blackmailed several times, starting when he was a teenager.
Why stop now? Nothing in his ordinary business stopped now, and I assume the question is not who is currently trying, but which agencies and people are not.

If one cannot protect their database, then there is a lot of other issues going on besides how one authenticates.
Over the years , I’ve read about some security issues with different social logins, and a few of them have been serious. One never knows when the next vulnerability is.
At the end of the day, everything has a vulnerability, and the best way to mitigate against that is best practices, and keeping up with news. That, and a bit of luck.
I have created my own login systems multiple times, and probably violated over a hundred best practices. I don’t know what a best login system looks like, but I have enough experience to find flaws with all of them now. And I am not confident in anything I use. Even if I only use battle tested systems made by large groups of peoples

There are open source solutions to handle this effectively, which can be used in most projects; I would change the advice you gave to “ do not roll your own email verification, ever”

Movies with political or religious messaging have main characters who are pure in certain ideals; which is why they are boring to many.
This applies to any films with that since the 1920s

I don’t use slow query log, I once heard many years ago this causes my services to slow down after being turned on.
Not only that, it sounds woke. I use astrology to help me find the big meanies. While some find this ridiculous, there is a lot of sales energy targeting this to executives!!

- Comment on Nice horsie! 🐎 4 months ago:
We only adore cats because of the parasites controlling our minds.
There is a distinct correlation between cats taking over homes and the spread of that thing

- Comment on Why civilians don't crowdfund bribe money for politicians? 7 months ago:
Very cheap, but the cost is not only money but influence: billionaire politicians can be swayed by a measly million dollar bribe. The money is more a social norms thing in those circles. A token
Crowd funding cannot exert influence. It is not corrupt, does not own slave factories or stifle tens of thousands with unethical behavior.

This was me, is me. I had to start a no grain diet to get my blood sugar down. Between that and exercise I have avoided, so far, having to take meds for diabetes.
I am diabetic, but my average blood sugar is in the normal range without medication. If I eat wrong or get laz, I have problems

- Comment on On Shutdown, Democrats Turn to Simple Strategy: Do Something | They want to show their willingness to fight, even if the battle ends in defeat. 9 months ago:
Yes, they should. But I fear they will do a token sand throwing. If they have a bucket of sand, will use a tablespoon. Enough for a sound bite.
Maybe after consideration a pinch more.
I will be delighted if I am wrong . But they are not in the proper headspace to be a proper opposition party. Should the democrats loose next year I think some will learn. However I think they will secure majority in congress next year

- Comment on Trump says TikTok should be tweaked to become “100% MAGA” 9 months ago:
If you look at the Chinese press and social media no sale is expected.
Trump has a history of announcing sales without agreement. He did it before he was president.
Also at this point he had lied and broken promises so much the Chinese cannot rely on agreements, they can only try to not engage in non constructive ways.
People should not listen to Trump
- Comment on Trump says TikTok should be tweaked to become “100% MAGA” 9 months ago:
I think China and ByteDance are silent to not aggravate the situation, and I see no incentive to sell. Most likely TicToc will quietly cooperate with the American government more, or the service will be banned
- Comment on Trump says TikTok should be tweaked to become “100% MAGA” 9 months ago:
Why does anyone think this is true or will happen? Did ByteDance or the Chinese government say anything?
