Well joining the party of others is not good, when the others do shit, is it? This is not for framing Nintendo the devil and other console companies as angels.
Global console gaming is dominated by three major corporations, all now focused on expanding profit margins (with ‘margins’ being the keyword). Nintendo, with its strong loyal fanbase and historically stable pricing, is the easiest target to start another round of game price hikes.

When is possible yeah. For example, reviews by Gamer’s Nexus is impossible to set it x1.5. Steve talks so fast, feels already in x1.5.

I don’t know. I never had a Nintendo before my Switch, so many things in the video were uknown to me.
Yes, maybe the criticism leans toward the hateful side, but Nintendo is pushing it too far with their tactics these days.
Life goes on, I suppose. It seems gaming has hit its developmental ceiling, and companies are scrambling to find new ways to milk the cow for every drop.

Yeah it was a bit lengthy. That’s why i only watch youtube videos when i am cleaning the house or doing other stuff. Well when they are more like a podcast anyway.

For the information? It is not only about Switch 2, it is about Nintendo.

The console for $ 450 is not that insane (although it is somewhere PS4 power equal), the game prices and some other anti consumer practices are. I am playing in PC, and only console i had the past 15 years was Switch. I did not know many games where dropped to $20 before Switch only to resale them at $60 after.
Many gamers had no problem with a $70 some years ago, buying the games and now its going up. Until they realize it, they will ask themselves why $120 games is the new norm in a few years.
Also charging $10 for playing the games you own in a new console that you bought, without almost no content, man consumers suck hard for accepting that.

When I say they’re ‘not good,’ I mean they run slower. AMD and Intel GPUs perform nearly as well as they do on Windows, but Nvidia GPUs can suffer up to a 20% performance loss on Linux, depending on the game.

Nvidia GPUs are not good in Linux at the moment. And yeah all what you said. But i had tried Linux for gaming like something 5-8 years ago, and the situation is so much better now.

Yeah NVIDIA GPUs, like mine, suck at Linux.

Nvidia user, i saw a 10-15% performance difference (maybe more in some games), some anti-cheat do not work, so i can not install these games. I used both Mint and Nobara with latest drivers running and proton-GE.

I’m in Windows 11. I have regret it, but after so many tweaks of the system, removing telemetries, changing menus, and other Windows shit, i had not the energy to move back to Windows 10.
Only OS change i am willing to make is to move to Linux, but gaming is not there yet, and am now trying to move from big proprietary companies to FOSS, so time is needed.
- Comment on The Switch 2 Rollout Was So Convoluted It Made Us Want A Steam Deck. 1 week ago:
The question is how many of the Switch 1 buyers are Nintendo fans. Many, like me, bought Switch entering for 1st time to the Nintendo, but i am not consider myself a loyal mindless fan. With kids and families is harder though.
I will just skip Switch 2 and just play only in my PC like i always had. If they release a good Steam Deck that it is worthy, i will consider it. If the market slaps them and they return to reality, i will consider Switch 2 for 2026.

- Comment on Valve "followed" 1.7 million Steam users for over a year, and now reports those gamers spent $20 million on microtransactions and another $73 million on games and DLC 4 weeks ago:
From their report report :
[ For years we’ve seen an encouraging pattern. Hit new releases are excellent at generating new first-time purchasers, and we’ve tried to build many platform features to encourage those new users to stick around, find more great games, and play with friends. To gather data illustrating the effectiveness of that approach, we went all the way back to 2023 and identified the biggest 20 releases of that year. We looked at every new first-time purchaser generated by those products (that is, an account making a purchase, or redeeming a Steam key, for the first time) for a total of 1.7 million new users. Then we followed that cohort of new users. The stats below represent what those players did from January 2024 through early March 2025.
…That cohort of players has gone on to spend $20 million on in-game transactions across hundreds of other games—plus another $73 million on premium games and DLC across thousands more products. ]
So they are not average gamers, more like new blood in steam, and the numbers are for money they spent additional after the reason they came to steam.
