This far from a solution but I thing I do is do a quick search for it on a search engine and look for websites makes a list of the best ones you can buy at the moment. Here’s an example: I search for “best hiking shoes for national parks” and many outdoor-focused gear websites will recommend shoes from brands like Columbia and Merrell.

Child sick, buy some medicine
Your sick, buy some medicine
How about providing free health insurance at no cost to the employee and access to child care services also at no cost? Or would be socialism?

Story idea: Lovecraftian horror but from a fish’s perspective and instead of “cosmic horror”, it’s “terrarian horror.”

- Comment on Is anyone NOT steaming their Music? 2 months ago:
I’ve gone back to sailing the high seas and don’t regret it. Cost efficient, superior quality, more control and a better service overall. If I do buy music from an artist that actually deserves it, it’s on Bandcamp. I’ve been looking for a physical/analog setup and make copies of those. I’ve also learning how to self-host so I can setup a Navidrome server for seamless transition from device to device.

- Comment on True Story 4 months ago:
A shame really since their stories kick-started the entire Marvel Comics mythos. The Skrulls, Black Panther, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and, of course, Doctor Doom all originated in the pages of FF comics. Yet, as time went, they were overshadowed by later creations. There were only two notable eras of FF comics: the original Kirby/Lee run and the John Byrne era. The only other notable FF stories were some crossovers with the Chris Claremont era X-men comics.

Emulators. Are. Legal.
This was settled with the Sony/Bleem debacle. Bleem only provided the software by which one could emulate PSX games but the never the ISO files themselves. Those files could only be provided by the end user regardless of how they obtained them. Sony, of course, couldn’t give less of a shit and sued them anyways. Judges, however, took Bleem’s side on the basis that no copyright infringement had been committed on their behalf. Although Bleem would ultimately win ever lawsuit brought against them, the sheer size of the legal costs led to their closure which makes you if that Sony’s endgame the whole time.
Here’s a video by Nerrel about the legality of emulation. It’s from 2020 but it is still relevant.

- Comment on Ace Attorney became a hit IP only because Capcom pushed past the “failure” of first game, according to former dev 7 months ago:
I don’t want to came off as simping for Capcom because they’re are a corporation and thus are only profit-driven. But I do want to give credit where credit is due. Greenlighting a sequel despite the first attempt being a flop is not something that many publishers would do. This wouldn’t be the last of Capcom’s unorthodox decisions. When the industry was laying off workers left and right, Capcom actually increased their employees pay. If that increase was actually a substantial increase or not I don’t know but other companies won’t even consider increasing employee pay by a cent.

Give the franchise a fucking break! No more shows based on some obscure lore! No more blatant monetization of an already dried up IP!
Wait, what’s that? It’s too profitable? Well then, how about that’s both profitable and worthwhile like a decent mainline trilogy and investing in good expansion material? KOTOR is dire need of continuation and a remaster.
