  Charge you $30 for $27 in credits that are hard to use along with amenities like WiFi that are free at other hotels. Basically a way to tack an extra $30 onto the room fee that doesn’t show up when comparing rates online.

  Well, if the idea is to bring a Swiss experience to Chicago, jacking up the price is the way to go. Have you been to Switzerland? Even breathing is expensive there.

  The gall of basically charging for wifi. Something I have only seen in hotels in the US in the past 20 years of personal travelling.

    It’s always the more expensive hotels, too.

    Stay at a budget hotel? Free WiFi.

    Pay more for a “luxury” experience? That’ll be an extra $20/night, please.

      looked it up and it’s even worse, they have a restaurant but this isn’t it. amuse is the lobby bar/cafe

  This is a very typical Swiss thing, dare I say: this post is very typical of the Swiss-french… The swiss Germans would not have explained it in strangely written phrases on an over designed paper (trying to be elegant) the Germans would not have explained it at all and just charged you the money. Furthermore, I would expect both the Swiss-french and Swiss-german hotel attendants to be “politely hostile” and dismissive if asked to explain this “small” $30 charge

  <smiling with the mouth and not the eyes; using words that seem like they’re generated from a middle manager’s chat gbt email that begins “as per my last request”… Passive aggressive to the max>.

    It is because it is to entice you to spend more money not save more money. I am sure it amounts to about 10% off most of these services when it is all said and done.
