I thought the joke was that the outer layer was an onion and the inner part was plastic filling.
ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks ago
Well, when you bake leeks in the oven you don’t eat the outermost layer anyway… I guess.

My onions usually just come wrapped in white, yellow, or purple paper. 🤷♂️

A hunter-gatherer would know how to eat an onion properly.

Smh my head. He forgor to peal off the plastic onion coating.
ranzispa@mander.xyz 2 weeks ago
I’m pretty sure that onion did not cook 5 hours. Just cook it 5 hours and the plastic will go away.

Got me good I didn’t notice the comm

That is pretty obviously the tough outer layer of an onion, not plastic. They didn’t take off enough layers of the onion. No one is going to wrap onions in plastic because that would actually make them spoil faster.

… No shit?

You haven’t seen the peeled and wrapped bananas?
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Husked and wrapped corn. Grade a bullshit. It cooks better in the husk.
