I never understood what the sponge was for. Like does she shove it up there to soak up the cum?
Definitely spongeworthy

Contraceptive sponges are/were basically the precursors to IUDs. Basically a (simplifying) female controlled form of birth control for people who don’t respond well to The Pill.
As it provides zero protection against STIs, it is theoretically a form of birth control you use in addition to a condom (in case of tears/improper sizing) or with a partner you are fluid bonded to and are comfortable having The Talk in the event of a missed period.
Mostly it just raised a LOT of questions about what Ms Benes was getting up to with these randos
… was this when she wanted to bang a Kennedy? Oh god, now I need to look up which one… To The Plex Server!!!

Is the birth control sponge still available?
Yes. Though the birth control sponge was taken off the market in 1994 – and again in 2008 – it was reintroduced for a second time in 2009.
Why was the birth control sponge discontinued?
The birth control sponge was introduced in 1983, but was discontinued in 1994 after FDA inspectors discovered bacterial contamination at its manufacturing plant. The sponge reemerged in 2005 under new ownership. The new owners promoted the product and then sold it to another company – a business that went bankrupt in 2007. A new distributor picked up the birth control sponge in 2009, and the product has been sold nationwide since then.

No, they were a form of birth control. The sponge was filled with a spermicide.

It’s a reference to an episode of a 90s sitcom about nothing.
Specifically the episode of Seinfeld where Elaine finds the perfect birth control for her (which is some kind of sponge 🤨) but then they stop selling them so her new criteria for a sexual partner is to determine whether they’re attractive enough to use one of her limited supply, which she calls being “spongeworthy”.

Which is reasonable from what my mom told me. She agreed those were the best.

In terms of their utility as a cleaning tool, sponge daddies are actually quite good at what they do. They’re somewhat more expensive but remarkably worth the money.

I have a strong preference for Dobie Pads, and found their version inferior
