Yeah those things.

Its not anti science to not blindly trust science. Its actual science to try and verify observations. Sure, most people dont have those skills to properly know what they are observing, but I think its good if people try to learn.
I learned tons of stuff about the common pitfalls about measuring the curvature of the earth by looking at flat earth arguments and seeing what science says about them.

To me it was 9/11 that started the insanity… Either way, if you look at movies from the 80s and movies from today, you clearly see the humanity lacking from todays movies.

People are afraid of a state they cant even feel or be concious about. The actual dying may not be fun though but being dead is the easiest thing you can be.

Seems minor. If they wanted people to pay for it, they would block games since thats what most young people use windows for…

Yeah. I havent used windows in a long time but when I was, you could play games without any license… What is locked?

Actually these days, windows is free because what Microsoft wants is your user data. And unless you stop that from being sent to Microsoft, you are generating profit for them every time you use your computer.

Its a hard question to answer. How many jobs are created by those people? Is it a net positive or negative compared to someone who doesnt create any successful company in his life?
I think I just hate the personality of the American billionaries. They are missing a lot of things inside, but that is also why they work so hard, because they need attention and feeling superior to others. Happy people dont even compare themselves to others very much and they feel good just having enough money to get a decent place to live, a decent car and decent food every day. And a partner to make life feel meaningful.
Of course now, young women are being totally brainwashed by social media so now they think they need to find rich single guys and ignore 90% of guys out there, which makes it hard to find a partner.
Its all part of the larger plan of making men feel like they dont have a purpose. Its just psyops. But thats a different discussion…

No I dont think we should destroy taxes. But I would love if they actually benefitted the majority of people, like you and me. After 50 years of being here on this planet, I havent seen that happening. I see old people getting poor health care, living on very little pension, and being forgotten by society.
All im saying is that the system is largely just sucking up money from everybody and using it for things the majority will never benefit from.
And of course you can say, shouldnt we pay taxes to support the weak in society? Yes, but again, i dont see that happening. I see old people being poor, i even see people being homeless. I see a lot of pain every day in people who actually need help but dont get it, because in capitalism, profits matter, not people.
- Comment on Inflation Outpaces Wage Growth For Over 40% Of Americans 1 month ago:
Thats one way of looking at it, sure.
Another way is that you could have had that money in your bank now, living a better life, maybe being able to stop working earlier, spending time with your family and friends, not feeling exhausted all the time.
- Comment on Inflation Outpaces Wage Growth For Over 40% Of Americans 1 month ago:
Wait until you do the math on how many millions you are paying in tax to the state, and what you get back for it. Almost nothing gets back to you.

When will we ever get rid of the .95 or.99 in every price… I guess never.
Im amazed it somehow works and the consumer buys more when using this system.

Its only wrong because humans have decided its wrong, when you think about it.
During roman times, it was common with complete orgies. Society makes up these rules as it goes.

I hope you also can get out of the rat race when you feel you had enough. :) For me I just got sick of it at 50.

In dollars, about 500.000. So if stocks go up 1%, thats 5000 dollars.
My monthly costs are about half of that. So im thinking it should work out fine. Its a risk of course, but its not a huge risk to take. I think its going to be fine.
- Comment on jobaphobia 1 month ago:
Like the previous poster said, there is a whole world out there where this sort of thing is very cheap.
In the west, everything is very expensive simply because people have the money to pay that much for it. We are working our entire lives with temporary relief now and then with overpriced alcohol. It sucks.

Ok I understand. There is no way someone connect what you write here with your ip. Only your instance even sees your ip.
- Comment on Why do so many people delete their posts? 2 months ago:
You shouldnt. Post and be downvoted. As long as you are not intentionally trolling anyone, it shows strength of character to stand up for what you believe.
Its very different from work where you are not free to do what you want, because your entire paycheck is based on going along with the charade. You dont have to do that outside of work. :)

You dont use your real name on Lemmy so I dont see why your history matters here. I could understand it on linkedin, which is why its a super cringe platform also, but here? I dont see a problem.
- Comment on Calm down 3 months ago:
Emotionally mature women do calm down. It just depends on the level of trust she has in what you say.
If you are known to her as someone she trusts and listens to, then she will consider if you are right and start to calm down if she thinks you are.
But it depends a bit on age and maturity and life experiences and all sorts of things.
