Ok I understand. There is no way someone connect what you write here with your ip. Only your instance even sees your ip.
- Comment on Why do so many people delete their posts? 1 week ago:
You shouldnt. Post and be downvoted. As long as you are not intentionally trolling anyone, it shows strength of character to stand up for what you believe.
Its very different from work where you are not free to do what you want, because your entire paycheck is based on going along with the charade. You dont have to do that outside of work. :)

You dont use your real name on Lemmy so I dont see why your history matters here. I could understand it on linkedin, which is why its a super cringe platform also, but here? I dont see a problem.
- Comment on Calm down 2 weeks ago:
Emotionally mature women do calm down. It just depends on the level of trust she has in what you say.
If you are known to her as someone she trusts and listens to, then she will consider if you are right and start to calm down if she thinks you are.
But it depends a bit on age and maturity and life experiences and all sorts of things.

Tempest Rising, the new modern command & conquer game. I really like it, and struggled for weeks how to beat the computer in skirmish on hard as GDF.
Turns out i hadnt realized the huge value of comms…

Its funny because humans see themselves as very smart, but they built a society where everyone has to work all day to pay their bills, because fantasy “money” is seen as a real thing despite just existing inside computer programs.

I was talking about reddit alternatives with quality mobile apps, not fediverse apps in general.
In that category i didnt know any besides Lemmy, but ok, piefed is worth checking out. But which mobile app has the quality of Sync?
And yes, im aware that some part of the donations may go to the Lemmy.ml instance but I also believe that developers need to have a decent salary. So its not strange that 1000 dollars per month is not nearly enough to live on. But people just ignore that and focus on not supporting lemmy.ml because they dont like the political views of the developers.
But yeah I will check out piefed. Its good with more alternatives, specially written in easy languages like python, since rust is very difficult to contribute to.

Well, we will see. It would be stupid if Lemmy died because the users couldnt accept the opinions of two little devs, but sure, it may happen.

Its an app? No i still have a dumb tv. 50 inch plasma that has lasted 10 years now i think. And I like that its not smart, so it doesnt talk to random stuff on the internet.
I guess I will replace it soon but when I do, that tv gets no internet access. :)

The original post on lemmy.ml by the creator of Lemmy had a lot more details, so maybe just link to that one?

Yeah very much. Now its about profits, so quality goes down and price goes up. Modern farming.
- Comment on Please consider supporting Lemmy development 1 month ago:
Yeah? I dont agree its transphobic to want women to still be competetive in the sports they are competing in. And thats my opinion.
- Comment on Please consider supporting Lemmy development 1 month ago:
You are paying for their programming, not their opinions. I dont think its a big deal if they have flaws or opinions i dont agree with.
So they dont like trans people. How does that even matter? Any trans person can use the platform anyway. The code doesnt have any opinions, its just code, and that code can be used to support trans people. The little opinions of the devs have no effect on this.

I tried YouTube today for the first time in years. Its unwatchable. The frog must have been slowly boiling for years to have so many people accept what Youtube is now. Just wow.
I managed to watch about 10 minutes but had about 5 ads during that time, taking up several minutes of my time. It broke my focus and I forgot what the video was about.
Back to Newpipe.

I didnt know it was a new studio too. Thats a classic mistake.
- Comment on Cities Skylines 2, Kerbal Space 2, Planet Coaster 2, Frostpunk 2... What Went Wrong? 1 month ago:
I wouldnt go that far. Skylines 2 has a new game engine. If it wouldnt have turned out to be incredibly slow, it would have been a very successful launch.
And I cant imagine anyone buying Skylines 2 if it used the same engine. Then it truly would have been no point. The new engine was supposed to make cities more beautiful and more realistic. They just didnt manage to make it fast.

Im 50 soon.
I mean sure, I no longer have excitement for IT. Ive seen so many trends and ive seen us just spinning the wheels. We dont actually get anywhere. Things get more complex and it solves some problems and creates others.
When I was younger, I actually got excited about stuff in IT. So that has changed. But still, its possible to work and just have a ordinary job doing ordinary stuff. Dont need to get hired at Google. :)
