Holy crap this is a good game.
I'm not usually fan of either these "choose your own adventure" type graphic novel games or of horror games, but holy shit. Fair warning, it is a horror game, but in my opinion you should check this thing out.

I hate horror and it fucking sucks!
There is so much great looking content in the horror genre that I just can’t enjoy 😫
I bought this game on a whim after reading that the devs had said they’d rather people pirate it than have it spoiled for them. I don’t usually buy games full price, so this was a rare thing for me, but I have no regrets; it was one of my favourite games of that year.
I just love how ripe for thematic analysis it is. For example, I’m a woman who has read a bunch of feminist and queer theory, and some of my interpretations of the themes were drastically different to a friend’s. I found it really cool that I didn’t necessarily disagree with their takes, nor they mine, but we both resonated with the game is strong but different ways
Yeah, it sits at this very satisfying cusp where it is clearly saying something, once you get over the "look at this upsetting thing I'm showing you" level, but I can also totally believe people coming to totally different conclusions about what it is saying. It's wild.
This post made me buy and play the game through. I did my first playthrough in about 4 hours and… Wow … My brain is going to be contemplating the story for a while. Incredible. Just incredible.
One been playing Scarlet Hollow from the same devs, and it’s pretty good
This was the only game i’ve ever played of this type and dam it was a solid fucking game. I really enjoyed it.
You can give Scarlet Hollow a shot. It’s by the same devs and has a longer story, but it’s not finished yet.
Should I wait for it to be finished? I added it to my wishlist, it looks great.
This post made me finally start this game up. I bought it a long time ago but didn’t play it.
I played maybe an hour and so far it is fantastic. Can’t wait to play more.
it is really good and I’ve been meaning to do another playthrough since they put out the free update over a year ago. I always laugh when people put up low rent “modern games aren’t good” when there are brilliant indie titles out the wazoo these days.
Oh! I’ve been putting it off because I wanted to play it along with a friend to watch but now I have an actual good reason to wait. It just seems so good!
It is excellent. It is brilliant. Everyone's different, surely there are people who won't like it, but for me it was top notch.
Note, the DLC mentioned here is already available for free in the game. The trailer is over a year old.

I’m confused, what dlc? This is a year old trailer for the pristine cut which was a free update.

Yeah, the news tab on Steam also doesn’t mention any DLC. And I’m fairly sure that the devs are hard at work on episode 5 for their other game.
I guess it was posted here to spark a discussion about the game?

IDK what is the panic about the distinction between a game update and a game DLC. I posted it because I played it and it was awesome and I wanted to let people know. In any case, I edited the title to say "update," hope you're okay with that phrasing.

What in your mind is the difference between a free update, which you can download, that adds some content, and free DLC?

Updates are usually automatic (at least in the modern days with Steam), and DLCs are optional.
DLCs are also usually a paid affair, unless they’re explicitly referred to as “free DLC”. Not sure if you worded it that way or not, came to this post after you edited the title.
