My landlord has approved my garden request, with a 2m height restriction on permanent plants. Sadly that rules out the 3m dwarf flowering gum I was contemplating, but otherwise fits my plans perfectly. Now I can start making some more detailed plans and get to work digging.

Oh that’s awesome. Having say over your garden is so important
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
I also like the idea of being able to leave a nice garden as a legacy of my time here. There are so many awful gardens around here, with fake grass and lots of stones, or just weeds. Being a new estate there is not many established plants, so being able to plant some natives that will support birds will hopefully provide some habitat for a long time. Plus a couple of citrus trees and herbs will help to support people long into the future too.

After seeing that Simon Patterson got terribly sick after eating his ex-wife’s food to the point where he got put in a coma and required life-saving surgery, I have no doubt in my mind that she is guilty as fuck.
That doctor who suggested to him to not tell many people about it makes me mad. I would’ve been encouraging him to file a police report with that spreadsheet he kept of food he ate.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Tracking food in a spreadsheet because you’re worried about being poisoned is fuckn’ wild.
Don’t want to be that guy but at that point the dude should’ve learned how to cook for himself lol.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
I agree, and that footage of her stone cold lying to the police! His family might’ve been saved if he’d told them sooner. Also the search history of lethal dose of substances.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
All of the extra info that’s come out is absolutely wild. Simon’s Dr calling the ER to say it was likely poisoning is something you wouldn’t believe in a movie.

That’s so evil. She really wanted him dead
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
yeah. she kept on trying, she would have seen him suffer, seen the consequences, and she kept on trying, that’s evil
she is so lucky we don’t have the death penalty

Melbcat is full of lambies and relaxing in front of the heater 🥰 This is so good. She eats all of this food so takes her meds in it without a fight and I really hope her blood values improve or stay the same on it.
Thinking I can sell some of my unwanted stuff and do a bulk order
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
My heart rate has not dropped below 85 since being on these meds. It was 90 whilst I was asleep which was to be expected, but a bit scary. I haven’t tried the clonidine yet so maybe I shall tonight.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Mine sits at around 80-85 and I do a fair bit of physical activity.
Defs feels weird at the beginning. Clonidine will bring it back down.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Yep it’s super weird! I shall try the clonidine today
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
is this expected? If it is and your doctor thinks it’s ok don’t worry about it
and stop looking at your monitor, it’s not helping
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Yes and I should absolutely stop looking at the monitor heheh
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Go for a walk in the sun? Meditate?
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
I did both of those things and it was nice as the meds wore off a bit

Spoiler free movie review : Weapons (2025)
Writer and Director of Barbarian, Zach Cregger, offers something even better this time around with Weapons. An excellent mix of horror, intrigue, mystery and even a bit of comedy.
A suburban community is traumatised by a class of grade 5 schoolchildren that disappears during the night.
To my surprise, the story premise (the disappearance) is set up immediately. It then unfolds through every character’s perspective and it moves along briskly with each “chapter”. This a great way to showcase each actor’s ability to communicate who the character is and forms a great relationship with the viewer along the way.
It is very creepy at times, there are excellent jump scares, a little bit of gore that will make you wince, and compelling right to the very end. I’m usually disappointed when horror films lift the veil of mystery in the third act, but to me this one is unconventional and ultimately very satisfying.
Some people might overthink the subtext with this one, but, there really isn’t anything deep and meaningful. It’s a fun ride that will pull you in until the end credits roll.

I wonder if internet addiction is real and people just cannot leave it. I say addiction because the use of it is disrupting their real life relationships.
even so, be sure to tell the rude friends you are so sick of them being late you won’t be organising any meet ups with them anymore.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
If people don’t respect your time, then I would find it hard to respect them.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 weeks ago
Absolutely. My respect has waned.

Such beautiful weather the next few days, so of course the rea sends a text saying it’s inspection time Monday morning 🙄 at least the place is pretty clean and easy to clean

My stomach still hurts from the capsule on Wednesday and it’s setting off anxiety attacks. Marauding dropkicks are probably not helping. Bleh

I organised a cheese topped roll for lunch, which I wrapped in baking paper so I could heat it in the sandwich press at work without it sticking. I just went to put it on my plate and discovered I didn’t unwrap it from the plastic before wrapping it and I now have a plastic coated hot cheese roll 😭
