This CEO would be better replaced with AI.

Again. AI can also replace all upper management. They literally do nothing but attend meetings and keep each other employed.

It’s arguably easier to replace upper management. All corps work in the same fashion, they crunch numbers, hire and fire based on performance of the company. I’d say that’s easier for AI to do than come up with new and novel ideas on how to do or invent things.

Look at all those people I fired! Aren’t I awesome‽

AI can save Klarna more than 60% of overhead expenses if they replace all upper management.
The number is made up, it could possibly be more.

I love the article image just randomly being Newton Street in Manchester.

I thought I just saw an article yesterday that they are hiring again because of issues they have with replacing people with AI? Or was that a different company?
toofpic@lemmy.world 1 month ago
No, it was them. That was a moment of clar…weakness, and now the CEO is sure he’s right again.

Not AI related, but reminds me of what happened at X when Musk let a bunch of folks quit and then had to beg for some of them to return. This is another example of a poorly thought out boomerang.

It may have helped them shrink the workforce by convincing them to do it, but that does not also mean that it was a positive and permanent action.
