I can hear and feel this photo and I find it displeasing.

Fountain pens FTW!

Yup, $15 for a bottle of ink that’ll go for a long time. Plus you get to be smug. I got a jinhao 10 pen that’s pretty useful .

I dunno, I bought three pens and four inks that the internet assured me was high quality and none of them are as smooth as my pilot G2 fine tip.
Fountain pens are way cooler though.

Nothing is as smooth as a good fountain pen, you are not even supposed to push like you do with a ballpoint pen, just caress the paper…

Pretty slow, but there are some of us here.

As a lefty I can confidently say fuck all pens. The sharpie gel one I use is alright but ball points just don’t work for those of us who push the ball when we write instead of dragging it. It’s like every pen I use is out of ink.

Turn the page about 45 degrees clockwise, you’ll write more straight across the page and the pen will work better because you’re not pushing it. Experiment until you find the angle that works best for you.
Additional bonus: No more smudges on your hand/the page.

Most people ask if it hurts when I write. Decades ago I decided to basically write upside-down. I turn the paper the opposite direction you’re saying then curl my hand essentially pulling the pen. I fill out door hangers for my job and I hold them upside-down on my leg and fill them out. Customers often ask how the hell I do it lol. I’m like, necessity my friend.

If writing for a decent amount of time, this is how I do it with fountain pens. They almost feel made for lefties.

More often than not gently heating the tip of the pen with a lighter will revitalise it. It’s worth a shot before throwing it out.

Uniball eye fine
I’ve used the same one for 3 years at work and it only just started to run out, so I got another.

This is how to draw “frustration” for Pictionary.

Hot damn stationary turns me on.
Not that shit though, that’s torture footage.
Pilot G2 best pen ever, unless one ascends to felt tips.

Papermate Flair!

Oh God I hate flair pens with the intensity of a thousand suns. Once they’ve started to dry out even a little the sound and tactile sensation of writing with them is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

The Pilot G2 and the Parker Quink Gels are great for refillable pens too! Dry ink is always an annoyance
