Crisps.

So instead of my usual tube of store-brand I grabbed a tube of Pringles because they had fancy limited edition flavours.

They put the flavour on the wrong side of the crisps. If you put them, as is proper, into your mouth so that they actually fit, right-out embracing your tongue, the spice is on the top side. I don’t have taste buds in the roof of my mouth. How can this kind of blatant incompetence exist in the world?

Also I would have expected more heat from something called “Thai Green Curry” but that’s a whole another topic.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

  Chipsfrish Peperoni definitely have more heat, they’re saying they’re using 10000 Scoville powder (though not how much of it). Generally speaking if order something to be hot in Germany you’re getting Turkish hot, which is about “able to eat pure Sriracha without breathing fire” kind of tolerance level.

    Last time I bought Pringle’s it was for science- they have some interesting aerodynamics.
    
    The time before that, it was on a bet about turning the can and some pencils into a WiFi antenna. (That won me some real ~~crisps~~chips.)

Yeah topside having the seasoning is normal. Plenty of articles and posts about flipping the chip.

  If I read this article right, and I think their picture shows their Pringles stacked same-side up as mine, mine have the flavouring on the other side.
  
  Which side is up in the can was never a question for me, they simply fit my mouth, and presumably mouths in general, better if the long concave side cups the tongue. It could be that they’re simply seasoned on the wrong side over here it’s not like they import them from the US, they’re produced in Poland.
  
  In any case the store brand has seasoning placement down, but as this is Germany you’re limited to paprika and sour cream and onion. Which I will be sticking with in the future.

    The shape of the Pringle has two obvious purposes:
    
    Fit easily to the mouth and engulf the taste buds with intense and pleasurable flavor.
    
    Model the curvature of spacetime as proposed by 11-dimensional string theory.

    I like to lick the flavor side and then flip it so it fits in the mouth. While less convenient than just having the flavor on the right side, the extra step makes it more involved which has its own kind of enjoyment.
