A while ago one of my old accounts got banned from r/news for saying I wouldn't bone some celebrity. Now if I forget and comment on a front page post with any account this happens.

  Anything you want from Reddit - use an RSS-feed. Reddit itself is not worth to use at all.

  All you currently see is:

  • Drama (writing awful stuff to each other).
  • Ragebait.
  • Terrible memes
  • Bots karma farming
  • Bots trying to steer political things.
  • People cheering on deaths of innocent civilians.

      I kinda liked the made up stories, like some guy saying he hit his wife in the face cause she was 'being hysterical' just makes me upset about the state of the world.

      Clearly fake "I sold my friends dog because she ate the last muffin" is fun.

    +1 for RSS but it doesn’t really replace the comments. granted on reddit the quality of discussion has for sure declined and lemmy is still a little dead sometimes. but it still provides value (to me)

    someone should build a distributed comment system that works with plain old RSS feeds

      Find a Reddit thread that’s about the current war between Israeli government and Hamas. I’m not going to search for these threads, got enough of Redditors behavior. Just google something along the lines of ‘‘Israel-Hamas war’’ and you’ll find upon the threads, just take a solid minute or two and you’ll notice the comments.

      Here’s a thread from several months ago that adresses it as well: Can we all just agree that killing civilians is bad and cheering it is repulsive?

  Probably a ban evasion measured linked to your IP. Try changing your IP address and then comment, might work.

    It won’t work as they use more than this to tie your accounts to you. I was permabanned for the same thing and tried multiple IPs. Mine was for mentioning piracy in /r/movies and then accidently commenting there on another account that was still subbed weeks later.
