      Hell, it’s true just traveling across the US. Try “Phildadelphia Cheeseteak” a few hours’ drive out of Philly. They’ll ask if you want marinara.

        Accurate but I was trying to expand beyond “Americans using food words wrong”. (Also, “wrong” is culture purity nonsense in this context. Food and language evolve and that’s fine.)

      Reminds me of how Germans still have this image of America being full of cowboys with six shooters on their hips.

  Seems like they probably skipped the broth. Looks basically just beschemel, though, being generous, it may have a bit of mustard, sour cream, and/or some herbs mixed in.
